"Jim Come Home"

with apologies to Simon & Garfunkel and their song, “Homeward Bound”

Jim’s sitting in Santa Clara station.
Hackett’s got a ticket to his destination. hmmm-mmm
On a tour of one-night stands he’s got headset and cap in hand.
And ev'ry stop is neatly planned as stepping stone to Michigan’s NC stand.
Homeward bound,
I wish Jim was,
Homeward bound,
Home, with no recruits escaping,
Home, where our band is playing,
Home, where MGoBlog is waiting
Silently for him.

Ev'ry day's an endless stream
Of bullshit tweets and agent smokescreens. hmmm-mmm
And each coach looks the same to me, whether alternative B, C, or D
And Ian Rapoport’s face reminds me that I long to see,
Homeward bound,
I wish Jim was,
Homeward bound,
Home, with no recruits escaping,
Home, where our band is playing,
Home, where MGoBlog is waiting
Silently for him.

Tonight I'll press F5 again,
I'll play the game and pretend. hmmm-mmm
But the last decade comes back to me in shades of mediocrity
Like emptiness in harmony I need Harbaugh to comfort me.
Homeward bound,
I wish Jim was,
Homeward bound,
Home, with no recruits escaping,
Home, where our band is playing,
Home, where MGoBlog is waiting
Silently for him.
Silently for him

EDIT: The board is touchy this morning!  Take a deep breath . . . it is sarcasm.

Am I the only one not seeing Jim as a silver bullet? He's my first choice, but not a huge gap to guys like Miles and Mora. He's done impressive turnarounds at both levels, but has a history of rubbing people the wrong way, including Michigan people.

here and there about it.

Personally, I would put Miles on a level with Harbaugh with all this with the possible exception of developing a QB...and I say possible because Miles has had some pretty good ones actually (Matt Flynn is a better than adequate backup for Rodgers, Mettenberger is OK...so far and, of course, the most talented QB that Miles had, Ryan Perilloux, was (and still is, I think, a head case).

Miles seems to have done a better job with Qb's than Saban has, really.
