AFTER taking two years off broadcasting.
Name one successfull coach that moved directly from the pro's to college. You can't. People use Pete Carroll as an example but he sucked the first time around with the Jets. Nobody and I mean nobody has moved from success in the pros to college.
He aint coming.

And Michigan had never lost three games in September until this year. You know nothing, mGrowOld.
/thanksnostradamus.

I dont claim to know anything. But I do believe that history is a fairly good predictor of what will happen and if NO successfull pro coach has done it before I dont see Harbaugh being the first.
Love to be wrong - don't think I will be.

I was purely responding to the "he aint coming" part, mostly jokingly (you know nothing, Jon Snow). I'm just tired of so many people claiming with absolute certainty what he will or will not do. It just bothers me.

Then I remind myself of the harsh reality that he will never come here. Not as long as his brother has a Super Bowl ring and he doesn't.

We all know Brady Hoke has to be gone by the end of the season. But for me, the most painful part of this whole process is the suspense. Who's it gonna be? Having gone through two coaching searches on this board, with all the speculation and false leads, hopes up, hopes down, I think I have PTSD, coaching search style. Clicking on the CC threads is futile; just more specualtion based on nothing. No coach with a job is going to tip their hand mid-season. And as we saw in the first search, with the Herbstreit Les Miles debacle, anything before an actual press conference announcing the new coach can't be trusted. If I could only back away from the keyboard as I start to type M-G-O-..........

Make him the highest paid coach in in CFB and full control of the program + assistant's salaries. I'm tired of us cheaping out with lesser options... we are the winningest program in CFB history and the football team determines the future of our entire athletic program. It's time we start acting like it. He would be a Michigan legend if he can turn this mess around. That's gotta appeal to an alum like him on some level.

Harbaugh-- Update . . . right . . .
October 5th, 2014 at 2:00 PM ^
They claimed, if he went back to the college ranks, it would be to KU and not UofM.
Apparently he loves Kansas and his wife is from there. So, there's that.

Sounds like something that ESPN would pontificate.

Ross wants Jim and Jim wants a Super Bowl and his wife isn't from Michigan. john, on the other hand, has already won the Super Bowl and he could believe his time at the Ravens has run its course following the Ray Rice debacle. Oh, and his wife? She loves Michigan and metro Detroit: http://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2014/10/02/detroit-tigers-…

...but not "full-Brandon." No one goes, "full-Brandon."
Luck + Harbaugh would be a nice combo. You'd have to pony up crazy amounts of money, but it would probably be a successful match.
As an AD, IMO, Luck is 50% Brandon, 50% Hollis at MSU. He signed a contract extension at WVU a couple years ago. I believe it runs through 2017.
I'd certianly do it if I could though. I don't think Michigan needs to be paying Harbaugh more than Saban, but if he's the 3rd, 4th or 5th highest paid HC, I'm okay with that. Same with Luck at AD.

How the hell does Jay Glazer know what the 49er management would do? If they win the SB, the owner would achieve his greatest dream. He won't get rid of JH. This is clickbait or tweetbait?

Nobody knows anything. I repeat. Nobody knows anything, one way or the other except the parties concerned. Please stop posting random speculation as fact (not the op, all the people exclaiming he isn't coming).
Nobody knows anything.

If Harbaugh is dumped in the middle of the season, you have to fire Hoke immediately and go all in. Right?
October 5th, 2014 at 2:58 PM ^
You know that and I know that but I'm not sure if the morons in the AD know that.
October 5th, 2014 at 3:16 PM ^
"All that glitters is not gold when it comes to some coaches."-DB
i.e., Harbaugh will be sitting at home watching DB jetset around the country in Stuffed Crust One interviewing Cam Cameron and middling coaches from the Mountain West.
October 5th, 2014 at 8:40 PM ^
"Middle school teachers" from the Mountain West.
Which is kind of the same thing, really.
