As many of you have heard, there is a rumor that Gruden is being interviewed for the job. He hasn't been discussed half as much as the other candidates, maybe due to the fact that people don't consider him a realistic 'get'. Now that this is swirling around, as are rumors about everyrhing and everyone, what would you guys think of having the former Super Bowl Champ as our HC?
I for one have mixed feelings. On the the one hand, he's a huge name which would attract a lot of media and recruit attention to our program. He has NFL experience and has won at the highest level. He's nationally heralded as great head coach and i for one like his firey personality. On the other hand, I don't really see him talking to kids about academics or homesickness/family issues. A lot of people underestimate how important it is to have that mentor metality in college coaching and I'm not sure if Gruden is that type of guy.
I will say this: I rather have Gruden than a 58 year old Les Miles.

Gruden would give Michigan a serious opportunity to win 9 games next year and he would be a killer recruiter. He has a great defensive mind and he's interested in the spread. Plus he's 47. There wouldn't be a more perfect get (at this point), in my opinion, save for maybe Gary Patterson.
