CC: Gary Moeller

Submitted by Darker Blue on

This is what I think should happen:

Brady Hoke should resign tomorrow, Gary Moeller should be called up to finish the season out. I realize he's 70 + years old, but who cares. This move would allow a MICH guy to finish out the season while the new AD can get to work on getting James P. Hardballs to come coach  here. Hell maybe Moeller could get these kids to play like they mean it.

I will now post this and accept all of your negs. MICH

pre-Bobby Boucher...I think he has actually has some offensive genius to him late in the movie.  Although, he does turn out to be a great motivator as well, what with inspiring Bobby because "water sucks" and "Gatorade is better," and getting the Bob from The Walking Dead to boot long field goals.

Hayden did lead the Screaming Eagles to the Pioneer Bowl in either 1993 or 1994 (I forget which season specifically), so he definitely had that going for him. He also set up the Breakers for later success under his former assistant Mike Dybinski, so the coaching tree is also a talented tree.

Moeller got a raw deal.  If everyone who ever got liquored up and made an ass of themselves lost their jobs, our unemployment rate would be around 75%.  The only justification:  Grand Marnier.  Stuff is nasty.

I'm almost positive Bo was out of town when the whole Moeller thing went down...wonder what Bo had to say about it? I'm surprised Bo allowed him to be fired, anybody remember how this shook out? Where was Bo?

Just finished reading Bo's Lasting Lessons and Bo said he was in Mexico at the time the whole Moeller thing went down.  Everything happened so fast there was nothing he could do to save him by the time he got home.  He basically said Moeller never would have been fired had he been around to talk some sense into the people that canned him.

Always thought Moeller got a raw deal. I still suspect someone from Staee slipped something in his drink.

Has anyone contacted Sigourney Weaver's penis to see if it might be interested in coaching?  I know we passed it over in favor of Hoke last time, hopefully it isn't to chafed about it.

Let DB fire Hoke, then fire him. Then let Moeller step in as interim Coach / A.D.. Then let Moeller and a group of his choosing start the search for a new Coach and A.D. with a panel made up of Ross,Glick and former players interviewing and selecting which candidates to interview for each position.

Whoever takes over this team can start winning very soon, assuming low attrition. We have very good talent, and the immediate work will be restoring their confidence, putting them in position to exploit their strengths, and teaching them how to win. That's not an easy job, but the right guy could have a good first season as head coach next year.

I bet Moeller could do a better job coaching while drunk than Hoke has done. Hoke must think he is in a twilight zone episode with just how badly things have gone for him.

My remark wasn't to suggest that Moeller was or is a raging drunk. It was only to point out I'd rather have Moeller in an inebriated state coaching than Hoke. Moeller got screwed. He should have never been fired. He was a great HC and I was very sad that the University went as far as it did when I think a less severe punishment should have been handed to him. But the University has shown to be prone to making bad decision after another in hindsight. And I am the belief that trend will continue. We are all frustrated with what we are seeing on Saturdays for the last few years.
