CC: Cowherd mystery name: Bill Belichick

Submitted by Simps on

Cowherd just tweeted:

Michigan fans, the names I hear are encouraging. I am not teasing you. Although his names rhymes w Till Zellicheck.

Something tells me he tweeted this just to go on mgoblog and read this thread. Not gonna lie, if I was him I would have a hard time not loving this.

Obvoiusly he's joking about bellicheck but I think he may be hinting that McDaniels name is circulating.  Using 'rhymes with' as in how the two go togheter.

I kind of used to like cowherd but he has gotten super annoying. He was just making up stuff how most student athletes are "middle-class" and therefore don't have to be paid. He's a joke

I had a name pop into my head and i've spent the better part of the day trying to poke hole's in the idea. I've failed. I can see no way to completely remove this guy from my ideas for HC (specifically Cowher's "no one you've thought of" comment). Sure, i'm 90% Cowher is full of sh*t. It's what he does. But it did lead me to a great HC candidate idea:

Bill Cowher.

Yea. I know it completely goes against that part and that's fine since, like I said i'm pretty sure Cowherd is just trolling for views and clicks. But aside from what he had to say, I see no reason why Bill Cowher shouldn't be a name discussed for the position and I haven't seen his name pop up on anything yet.

I'm too new to post a topic, or i would, but this seems like a pretty decent under-the-radar HC idea. Thoughts?

Bill Cowher is the unicorn everyone seems to bring up for EVERY job opening in college or the NFL. In theory, yeah seems great. But it's almost a running joke at this point that people bring up Cowher or gruden. Both guys seem to love what they do and id be surprised to ever see them coach again to be honest.

I don't care what Cowherd says, and I have doubted him from the start, but am I that views that as a sarcastic (albeit not funny) way to end the tweet? I am not teasing you. --> Although, Obvious name that won't happen because I think I'm funny.

Unless he said something on the radio, I don't see this as trolling but more of him trying too hard to be funny. He has already stated that he won't reveal who it is.

That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if you are all right and he was trolling Michigan fans hard, like he generally does.

It really doesn't matter, it's showbiz.

Just like big time athletics. The games are showbiz, the news is showbiz news, and the talk radio is showbiz. Even the hero worship is showbiz.

The National Enquirer Sports Page

"Harbaugh Coached By Alien Intelligence."

Harbaugh is an alien, isn't he? I mean, isn't being an alien why he wins so much? Or maybe aliens just give him game plans. That's probably it.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Also, if Belichick has to answer media questions about this, Cowherd should watch his back. I'm sure Belichick has had people's entire families murdered for far less.

The Lloyd Carr Illuminati planted this story to derail Les Miles' candidacy for Michigan's coach!!!

(A joke intends to make fun of my conspiracy theorist tendencies...)

(Wait...  darned it Lloyd...)

I don't like cowherd. He's almost as bad as Rome. That said, What people here don't seem to get is that the michigan job normally does not come open. It is a top,5 job in all of football. Period, and now were stacked with recruits and the fanbase expectations are minimal. On top of that, word is that we're going to pay big bucks to hire a coach. Hell, we paid Brady big bucks. Anyone is in play that does not have a particular affinity to their school, such as a coach of his alma mater. Of course last time we hired hat guy, so really, as long as were paying no one is off limits. I have said before and again that nobody is off limits: Peyton, Belichek, harbaugh, etc. this is currently a dream job even for guys who it was not a dream job for in 2010. This s michigan fergodsakes.

He's a funny guy. Except he's not. I always have a hard time understanding how he's been on the air for so long and then I remember it's ESPN. And then I don't care again.
