There may be more good jobs available or coming available than thought. We know: Michigan,  Nebraska and Florida

Thoughts on others that may become open:

Notre Dame: BK may voluntarily leave now for nfl. Or even Nebraska. Even he may be easier to deal with than pellini was.

Mississippi State: Not a big time program in my book, but Mullen is almost certainly gone.

Mississippi: If fla hires their coach.

Arizona: as with Mullen, this may be RRs opportunity to take a big time program on. He's unlikely to improve on this season, and Fla could come calling. Probably one of the few places he'd jump for now given his recruiting preferences.

Oklahoma: Will Stoops stick around? Will he be offered jobs at Michigan, Florida, or Notre Dame?

Alabama: is it possible that after winning the championship Saban moves on? Rumors that Alabama fan base has become complacent and that sabans may be ready to move along. If so is it retirement or a new challenge?

with his close connection to Jack Harbaugh then Hackett becomes a liability to the program. His inexperience and lack of connections in college athletics will hamper him in obtaining a qualified coach. This is especially so since he is an interim AD and probably will not become a permanent AD. Good coaches want to know who will be their boss and AD's want a say in who works for them.

I think this is so right.  A friend of mine was at the Maryland game and showed me the picutres of the crowd.  He said there was no way they had more than 75,000 fans there at the most.  The pictures look terrible.  We need to do something because we are entering Purdue level.

Lol @ the suggestion that Nick Saban might be gone. Not saying it's impossible for him to jump to the nfl or something, but it certainly won't be because the fan base has become "complacent".

Note that Saban likes Michigan and the tradition. he said that while at msu he could never get out of our shadow there. Maybe he comes

is Nuss was sent ahead as a scout to ensure Hokes downfall by running an offensive offense thus clearing the way for Saban? Saban also ensures Alabama doesn't get in his way of winning championships at Michigan by leaving the controls in the hands of the Kiffster. GENIUS!!

I think Jim Harbaugh will most likely stay in the NFL. He won't come to Michigan even if he's shown the big bucks, based off of the comments that he has made towards the university in the past few years. I think our best chance at a good head coach who will develop players and who will understand michigan expectations will be Les Miles

He made ONE comment, MANY years ago. He still isn't happy that Bo and staff steered him away from his preferred, more difficult major. If anything I see the comment as more of a reason the oldsters at M wouldn't want JH...if they have a say. I am not saying JH will end up at M, but it won't be due to these comments or any animosity behind them if he does not (ime).

Is this the real BJ Dickey, former player, who had his revealing next coach post, taken down by the mods????

The problem with hiring a head coach now is the fact that a new head coach will likely be found before a new athletic director, so if a new ad is hired, a new head coach wouldnt've been hired by the new ad

Doesn't it make at least a little sense, when it comes to dark horse candidates, to consider mark richt? Just seems as if things are getting stale/uneasy down there. And he's on the classier end of the sec spectrum.

Does anyone know how does the search work exactly?  Like is it industry standard/expectation for an AD reach out directly to the coach/coach's agent, or does a coach's agent ever reach out to AD?

All the coaches are moving. There's a lot to be said for staying in a stable work position. How many of you would leave a job where you had a good relationship with boss, had your kids in familiar schools, and were appreciated. A job where you made upward of $3 per year and had job security for an uncertain position?

Brian Kelly, if nothing else, did have an amusing reply to people asking him about the Florida job a few days ago:

"I’m going to Florida—in about two weeks to get some sun," Kelly said with a smile, according to WNDU.com. "I’m getting out of here with this weather—are you kidding me? So you can write that down. I’m going to Florida. Write it down now, get it out there, get it on the news waves."

Michigan would be the only noteworthy job coming open. The chances that we end up with egg on our faces once more have inched up over the last few days.
