CC - Art Regner on WDFN

Submitted by Thrillhouse on

A friend just texted me and said Art Regner is claiming on WDFN that RichRod is going to possibly get the axe today and be replaced by Brady Hoke. Errr....what?

I haven't listened to Detroit sports radio in years, so I don't know what Art's opinion of Rich Rod is, and for all I know these idiotic "insider" tidbits about the coaching search are a daily occurrence.

Here's to hoping it was just an aural hallucination.

I didn't know that about Harbaugh's kids and ex-wife. For me, it puts his older son's comments to the media that Jim "will do what's best for the family" in a whole new light...i.e., it makes it sound like he's less likely to leave Cali.

That's why Calvin went to visit UF last week. Urban needs to spend a quality weekend with his family, then take over UM, and RichRod would like to run his spread without academic restrictions. Calvin told Urban, "I'm sticking with you if can get me paid."

I mean it's so obvious. Hoke is just a smokescreen.

Take away all the belts, ropes, twine, yarn, and every stabby thing within his reach, put him in a room with no windows, internet, or TV, and give him a pile of good engineering textbooks. Wait a couple of weeks, and then he'd be ready to re-enter the world.

What a day it has been. We woke up to the same news from this time last year that Urban Meyer had indeed resigned...again. Tonight our sources are telling us that Rich rodriguez could be out in the very near future at Michigan. And other wheels continue to spin, as Rrumors are floating that Butch Davis could make it a trifecta at North Carolina. Lets take a look at what's going on all over college football in the coaching ranks. We'll start with the FBS and move on to the FCS ranks.

A very good source has told me this evening that there is word that Michigan may be on the verge of firing Rich Rodriguez. Michael Wilbon also alluded to such a move by stating on Tony Kornheiser's radio show that “I had a solo conversation with someone who is affiliated with the current coach at Michigan, and he does not believe for a second that he’ll be back,”.
That story ran on November 19th, before the Ohio State game and was posted on landloyalty.com, and the source that Wilbon was referring to was a former player that had played for Rodriguez at Michigan. That player is unnamed at this time. Our source tells us that the word is coming out of Michigan that the process may very well have begun. Don't be surprised if Michigan makes a move very shortly, and that they would then make a run for Jim Harbaugh. It has been widely rumored that Harbaugh would leave Stanford after this season, especially with the rumor grinding out there that Andrew Luck is set to bolt for the pro game. One thing to consider, however, is would Luck still bail if there was to be an NFL lockout, like many in the NFLPA are guaranteeing that there will be. If Luck stayed another season, would Harbaugh stick around at Stanford? He has a stellar recruiting class coming in, and he looks like he has Stanford primed to go glove to glove with Oregon for some time in the new PAC-12.

More on this story shortly...

It must be true, because former players said so -- just like the former players who backed up the massively flawed and inaccurate Freep Jihad.

I will give the reporter credit for providing some background on his ultimate source, but I am not impressed by his source.

and say if DB fires RR before the bowl, after repeatedly stomping around clinging to the fact he has said all along he would assess after the bowl, I'll be the biggest anti-DB guy on this blog. seriously. that would demonstrate zero integrity, closed door back-stabbing, deceit and two-faced representation. i cannot even begin to explain how embarrassing i would feel that was for the university. like Auburn on a plane talking to a new coach and being caught by the current coach embarrassed.
