CBB equivelent of Brooks Bollinger award?

Submitted by maizenblue92 on

The start of CBB season sparked a discussion between my brother and I. It lead to us trying to think about what players seem to have played forever. Followed by us trying to come up with the CBB equivilent of "The Brooks Bollinger Memorial 8th-year Senior Award". So I ask you guys what do you think is the CBB equivilent? I just wanted to get this post in before full Wisky lockdown mode.

P.S. When naming it after a player do they have to graduated or still in school AND do they have to be in the Big Ten?

I think David Lighty is the obvious choice for the Big Ten.  He's a 5th-year senior and he played with Mike Conley and other guys who are now in their 3rd/4th NBA season.

If we are going to make this official we have to agree on one guy so continue putting a list together and I will make a poll later.

Edit: What about guys like Tyler Hansborough, soon to be Robbie Hummel (he is coming back next year) or J.J. Reddick?

Jon Leuer at Wisconsin. It could be that he has been there since 1998 or it could be that Bo Ryan always has a 6'10" white guy who can kinda shoot and works really hard

Not a single mention of Purdue's Brian Cardinal?  Wow, he looked 35 and was at Purdue for most of his adult life.  He now has an amazing lakefront house on Lake James in Indiana (they like to point it out on the tour.)
