CB Terrence Talbot leaving program
As per Sam Webb, Terrence Talbot leaving program:
I'm told that #Michigan Jr. CB Terrence Talbott has decided to leave the program.
EDIT:
Sam then adds the following:
That should answer the questions about why I mentioned two scholarships remaining yesterday as opposed to one
I don't remember him ever getting any game PT.
3 solid CBs are good though.
IIRC, Talbott played quite a bit as a true freshman.
You recall correctly.
Due to injury and he was in line for even less playing time. Im surprised he stuck around this long to be honest. You can tell he really tried to be patient and if Hoke wasnt such a wizard at recruiting he may have had a chance to make a real impact. Good luck kid. I hope you find a place to make a real impact and hopefully even the NFL.
Seemed like he was ready to turn the corner.
:/ Slightly disappointing after hearing about his apparent resurgence in spring. Can we get him added to the "never forget" quilt?
Rich Rod would take him. I am sure he can use all the help he can on defence. Good luck wherever you end up.
This here's a 'Murrican blog. We don't cotton to furriners spelling words like "defense" wrongly.
and best of luck wherever you go.
First week of camp we will have 2 cbs in the 2 deep go down with injury is how I think this story goes down
please shut your mouth.
Just curious...how does Sam Webb get this info? I'm guessing he has his sources in the athletic department, but it just seems like he breaks nearly every development with regards to recruiting and the team itself. Quite impressive, he must have some really nice relationships.
I was thinking the same thing. It seems a good percent of the breaking news reported on the board is from him. He is certainly in "the know". If I had a twitter account I would follow him for sure.
following only yields a little info, because most of his 'stuff' is announcend on twitter, but is behind a paywall.
Hollowed out wall between Hoke's office and the locker room.
This
I believe Chris Singletary feeds him info.
Didn't mean to use "feed" with Sam Webb, but....
IMHO, nobody works harder at covering Michigan recruiting—and cultivating relationships—than Sam Webb. He's working his phone 24/7, continually attends camps locally and across the country, and gets to know kids and their parents in a way that few, if any, other recruiting guys do.
I don't think Sam attends a ton of camps. Some, but not an exorbitant number.
well good luck to the kid. certainly can't blame him for not wanting to sit on the bench.
From what was said around the time of spring camp, apparently Mattison liked the competition at CB and Talbott was apparently in that mix, so this is a bit disappointing to hear, but it seemed like he likely would not get much field time here. Best of luck, Mr. Talbott.
Just hope that all 2012's qualify...if Clark is guilty and we have anymore attrition (very possible) we could be in for a couple more recruits.
Its a blog.. Say what you want.. Dont worry about what most people on here say.. Hes leaving the program, now we have to move on.. Or, maybe we should send him some balloons and a card and tell him it gonna be ok.. We are grown ass people so all the MOMs on the blog site can get a life.. Once again its a BLOG.
So what you're saying is... it's a blog
Not really sure you have to comment on every single thread about every single comment, just saying

certainly clears up the whole blog thing.......thanks
We are getting dangerously close to the question of "how many EEs can we take / backdate to 2012 to get our number above 25?".
Please Treadwell and Green go blue.
This is such a big weekend with Green here for 3 days. We dont' have an elite RB prospect on the roster after Fitz. (Not that none of our current guys can't exceed expectations.) So to get a 5* RB in the 2013 class is a huge deal. If Green goes blue, he joins us for Fitz's (presumed) senior year. If he doesn't, the earliest we can get an elite RB on campus is the year after Fitz leaves. I personally have high hopes for Deveon Smith, but it will be interesting to see how he progresses this fall. Still, with our OL recruiting, we ought to have a top RB recruit.
I don't know what your definition of elite is, but Justice Hayes was a pretty much consensus Top-100 player coming out of high school, and he appears to have put on some bulk this offseason.
It goes to show how good things are, doesn't it, when we feel like we have to have a 5* running back. I think it is going to be very interesting to see what Justice can do -- as you know the reports have been suggestive. If Fitz is out for Bama, as seems likely, it really gives an opportunity to Rawls, Hayes, etc. I would love to be pleasantly surprised. And I would love to get a commitment from Green this weekend.
I hope everything is ok in his personal life.
If this makes room for both Treadwell and DG, which one of you is mad??
You always take a veteran on the team versus a recruit. The recruit may not go here, decommit late, have a severe injury, quit, etc and will never see the field. Losing an experienced corner with two seasons left to play is not offset by a recruit for this season...Down the road maybe, but I never understood why people would take that 'trade'.
The two guys who may commit to us are both offensive weapon juggernauts. I understand your point, veteran leadership and experience is key. But usually thats reserved for the senior/junior starters.
Kevin Grady was an offensive juggernaut. So was Doug Dutch, Toney Clemons, and Sam McGuffie...
If you always kept experience over a recruit, then every 5th year senior would get the 5th year. We know that's not always the case.
Disappointing and a little surprising given that he seemed clearly in the 2-deep as a junior behind floyd who will be leaving next year... so theoretically in line to start next year, and many felt he was "pushing" Floyd this year.
Best of luck to him.
This explains both the extra scholarship and the plethora of CB recruits. Happy trails, Terrence.
That Leon McQuay just dropped Michigan from his top group. Anyone hear why? I know we picked up a CB commit but we just lost a CB scholly.
UM is Hella deep at CB from 2013 on...
I'm pretty sure the coaches knew about Talbott's departure before this morning. I don't think the new CB commit is unrelated to the departure.
Im guessing the coaches knew about this before offering our most recent commit. Good luck in the future Terence!
Hopefully he will get the playing time elsewhere that he desires.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up down the road at EMU, like Mike Williams.

I'd hope he could do better than EMU.
