Love seeing positive news about the program period. Nice to see the term "ballhawk" in regards to a safety/DB as well. If this defense could have created a few more turnovers and left the offense with a little shorter field in a couple games we could have been bowling.

He definately is one of those finds that make you look back in four years and say, "Mike Hart was a 3 star recruit...". In other words kids that work hard and persevere can easily "overachieve" the rankings given to them by the recruiting experts. I really am pumped for a number of these recruits this year. What they might lack in star ratings, etc they seem to make up in intangibles (work ethic, "nose for the football", etc) as mentioned by their high school coaches and in articles. Really should be something to see in 3-4 years when these kids reach upper classmen status and become leaders of this team.

Big gloves".... lol... The thing I like about his coaches comments is his aggressiveness and the ability to come up on run support..... Like to see him on the kickoff team next year so he can blowup a few return guys as well....

Is he EE? Even more important to me, than the number of wins next year, is to see how kids like Carvin, Dileo and Vinopal, just to pick some names (not fair, really, to pick on three names out of 25 or so) progress. These kids will give us a window into RR's judgment of the kinds of kids, apart from 5-stars, that will be essential to the future of this team. If Michigan wins just 6 games (a ridiculously modest goal in the world of sports punditry), and these kids progress well, then I'll be damned if anybody should be taking this job away from RR. As I say, I'll judge the next football season on these kinds of kids, and not on any predetermined number of wins. [Edit. - Although I don't expect it, I suppose it is possible, given their respective positions, that Carvin, Dileo and Vinopal could all be redshirted next year. And if that is the case, I hope and expect that it means that the team, espcially the defense, has found some guys who can play and are not inclined to give up 400 yards a game.]

Johnson said he expects to play free safety at Michigan, where the Wolverines flimsy depth chart “played a significant role” in his commitment. Walk-on Jordan Kovacs and the underachieving Mike Williams started at free safety last year.
