And anyone telling a kid the right way to decommit behind a computer screen is silly.

Commit/Decommit how you want, if people don't agree with it or don't like it, whatever...it's your life and it's not that big of a deal.

Some of you all take the shit too personally. It has literally NOTHING to do with you, I'm sorry.

I don't know of anything that would have lessened Harbaugh's opinion of Dunaway since he committed. Is it possible that Dunaway looked at the talent in front of him and concluded he should go somewhere else if he wants to see the field? Seeing Gentry sit during a blowout while 2 true freshmen saw snaps might have given him second thoughts about the right team for him.

No. St. Juste doesn't have a lot of offers but I think he's going to be pretty good. A lot of talented players don't get a lot of offers for various reasons. In particular, players who commit early, as Dunaway did, frequently don't have extensive offer lists.

As for MAC level players contributing at UM, I recall Brian describing Mark Huyge as "a player we stole from the MAC". If our fifth string TE contributes as much as Huyge did, I'll be happy.

Ghost Rider, the pattern is full" talk from UM/Harbaugh, i.e. we foresee our TE situation is pretty stacked so not sure there's a fit for you.  Sounds like a good kid.  Best of luck to him and good for Harbaugh to give him lots of advance warning.

If said recruit is outside the top 750 or so national recruits, the "offer" is tenuous at best and you can commence decommit watch.  This recruit is keeping the spot warm in case something better comes along.

If said recruit is top 250 and out of state, especially out of region, the "commitment" is tenous at best and decommit watch is in effect.  This recruit has possibly just said yes until his dream date comes knocking, at which time a real decommit may be coming.

It would behoove you to read what the kid actually wrote - he seemed grateful and thanked the players and staff for, as he said, "support and encouragement". As people have already said, it seems evident that he may have been told to look elsewhere. He showed some class in his statement, not that you read it.

Idk why anyone is worried about all the decommits. The only one that really hurts is Solomon. Besides him, I have a suspicion all the others were told to look around, whether explicitly or thru lack of communication from the coaches.

2018 is going to be a small class and I tend to think the coaches realized they need to reevaluate and start over.

Very gracious of the kid to handle it the way he did. he committed a long time ago so I don't think this means Harbuagh plans on continuing asking kids to look at other options. We will see though.
