Carl Hagelin makes us proud; appears on the Not Top Ten

Submitted by lhglrkwg on

Just saw that Carl was on today's not top ten on ESPN. He scored a shorty and then tried to do one of those celebrations on one skate before falling right on his behind which was good for I think a #4 spot in the not top ten. You can see the aftermath a bit in this video

So far 7 points in 13 games for the Rangers. Quick update on the rest of the class; Rust is playing for WBS Penguins in the AHL, Louie got sent to the ECHL after some bad games with Binghamton, Langlais and Hogan play for the Dayton Gems in the CHL, Scooter Vaughn plays for Wheeling in the ECHL and Burlon is playing for Albany in the AHL.

4 career NHL goals already for Hagelin. I can just remember right now, when he suited up at Yost for the first time and now he's a rookie in the NHL playing and scoring goals in the "world's most famous arena", MSG.

*sniffle* they grow up so fast don't they?

Also Brendan Morrison picked up his 400th career assist last night against the Red Wings, in a 3-2 Calgary win.

I actually cheered when I was watching and he got that assist. I'm a Wings fan, but I'll always cheer for one of our own.

For those interested, Hagelin and NYR take on the Flyers at MSG tonight on NHL Network. It'll be a little preview of the game on January 2 in the Winter Classic.

Die-hard, life long Rangers fan here... At first I didn't think Hagelin would fit in with the team when he was called up last month as the Rangers already have many players with very similar size and skill sets with the big club already. I'm happy to admit that I was dead wrong. Hagelin has completely surprised me and has become an integral part to one of the best teams in the league at this point. He is picking up the slack for the slumping Dubinsky and Boyle and will probably be considered a top 6 forward come playoff time.

Oh, and that was a sweet celebration folly against the Debs the other nght.

The best part is his picture on the twitter is still a Michigan one, and he describes himself as a hockey player and Michigan alumnus rather than New York Ranger.
