Him and Barrett next year will be a total soap opera.

He better be ready for the pressure because after that ego driven stunt he is going to be in for some Jamies Winston/Johnny Manziel type of scrutiny.

I don't think this is good news for OSU really.  Let the infighting comense.

Didn't Taylor Lewan do the same? Also, during the press conference he made note of the fact that he was surprised with the fuss that was raised and that it was just supposed to be a small announcement with friends and family. You can't put the blame on a kid for something the media makes into an overblown fiasco.

All that being said, let's go out and knock the snot out of him or whoever actually plays this coming fall...

Thank you for actually "getting it" here.  He made this decision in a public forum because it was important to him to remind the underprivilged kids from the area of Cleveland he is from that it is important to stay in school and get an education. His uncle, who is a father figure in his life, is also on his deathbed in hospice care in Cleveland and he was visiting him while he was up there.  Cardale actually has a really funny sense of humor and I think calling a press conference to announce he was staying was brilliant: if people are criticizing the move they don't understand his personality, the circumstances surrounding the announcement, and that it's kid of newsworthy when the QB who just lead a team to a title and has NFL options announces that he is coming back.

Did you even listen to him or were you distracted by his t-shirt?

And speaking of brain cells, when you have a "First"  in a comment, proper grammar requires a Second.  And while I know your misspelling of "athlete" was likely a typo, you need to avoid those kind of mistakes when you are disparaging someone else's intelligence.

Second of all this the same fucking kid who said we dont come to play school..so yeah my opinion still stays. Did you even know Cardel Jones was still at osu? Plus this qb draft class is horrible, he has two maybe three guys ahead of him if he went pro

There is more to life than money, man. He is trying to make a responsible, informed decision which will have lasting consequences on his life. He's a father - so, earning a degree is a responsible thing to do and a great example to make - especially if football doesn't pan out.

Some of you guys just dont get it and thats the reason why thos program is where its at...NO GOOD Football playes goes to osu or uofm or alabama for the degree..its about making it to the next level and making the big bucks.
Yea his general studies degree will make him $200k a year and he will be secured for life. Those guys who do both are very rare and those are the guys who have both gifts; to be a good athlete and a good scholar.

I'm on the app as well, and yet I can put together a sentence with clear grammar, spelling, and punctuation (with 100% fewer grammar Nazi references). The purpose of the previous sentence is to inform you, sir, that I'm not really your posting style and substance comports well with this board.

He has enough confidence in himself to believe he will be be full-time starter. In addition, being a big proponent of education, I'm happy to see that he will be in school another year. Going to be a heck of a QB battle.

The craziest thing about all this was that he had to make a decision three days after his last game.  The NFL Draft isn't until April, so why do players need to announce three months in advance their intentions?
