I guess we will know for sure when they announce it on the next countdown episode.
I think Kovacs is a lock. The question is do we go with all seniors?
August 26th, 2012 at 8:56 PM ^
I wonder what Kovacs' plans are for after college. With the way that everyone talks about him, it seems that he'd be great to have in the Michigan coaching pipeline.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:21 PM ^
I'm sure he's going to give the NFL a shot. If he has a good year this year, I can't imagine there wouldn't be a team that wouldn't at least take a chance on him.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:29 PM ^
My guess would be the NFL, isn't that where multi year starters and from Michigan go?
August 26th, 2012 at 9:50 PM ^
What a rare and special moment it is when a walk-on becomes a co-captain of the Michigan football team!
August 26th, 2012 at 11:54 PM ^
Don't forget Mark Moundros, Captain of the 2010 team and former walk-on.
August 26th, 2012 at 7:57 PM ^
Lean would be a huge surprise, he graduated a few years ago. In all seriousness though, I doubt Hoke gives it to any non senior, Denard was an exception last year for being the QB. My guess is 16, 32, 21. Maybe BWC instead of Roundtree.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:02 PM ^
Denard was not a captain last year
August 26th, 2012 at 8:12 PM ^
Can't believe I misremembered that, could've sworn I saw him walk up for the coinflip... ah well, just goes to show that Hoke loves senior captains.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:53 PM ^
I think you might be right that he went up for a coin flip once (I had the same feeling) but he wasn't one of the three permanent captains .
August 26th, 2012 at 8:05 PM ^
Denard was not a captain last year. The captains were Molk, Martin, and Koger.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:10 PM ^
By the end of the year, Ryan Van Bergen was de facto a captain as well, though the record books won't reflect it.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:40 PM ^
Yeah he walked out for the Sugar Bowl toss, and I think OSU too
August 26th, 2012 at 9:35 PM ^
There were honorary captains for each game (who would come out for the coin toss with the regular captains). RVB was the honorary captain for the Sugar Bowl, but the MGoBlue game notes don't mention who had that position for the Ohio game. Denard was honorary captain for the Illinois game.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:00 PM ^
I agree with you about BWC as a captain. Hoke loves his D-linemen.
August 26th, 2012 at 7:58 PM ^
How often are juniors (even rs juniors) captains?
August 26th, 2012 at 8:29 PM ^
RS Juniors have not been captains too often, but when they are, they usually are Offensive Tackles wearing #77. See Jansen, Jon and Long, Jake, both two-time captains. I bet Lewan follows.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:27 PM ^
I may be making this up in my head but I swear I remember Mike Hart being a captain as a junior.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:30 PM ^
Were captains in 2006

I got a tweet today saying they were voting today.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:45 PM ^
With all the Facebook and the twitters these days, I am surprised no-one has said something like "I'm so proud of _____, _____, and _____". Unless they were warned not to steal Fauxhawk's thunder.
August 26th, 2012 at 7:59 PM ^
I'll go with #16,#32 and #65
August 26th, 2012 at 8:10 PM ^
Bama will be his 30th consecutive start. He's been academic all-conference two years in a row. The guy has gotten it done on and off the field. Not sure he'll get the vote, but definitely an underrated member of what is a fantastic senior class.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:55 PM ^
magic ...
August 26th, 2012 at 8:00 PM ^
Roh also is a solid guess.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:00 PM ^
Denard, Kovacs, and who else? Roundtree, Floyd, Campbell, Demens to name a few.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:07 PM ^
If BWC is even being considered thats a great sign that has made huge leaps in the offseason. Like absurdly huge leaps.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:04 PM ^
16, 32, and 2.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:09 PM ^
Those would also be my guesses. I probably would not have thought of Vincent Smith, but listening to the way his teammates talk about him makes it seem like a realistic possibility with it being a team vote and all.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:06 PM ^
My surprise candidate is Jack Kennedy.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:19 PM ^
I would have said JDK and Rey, but Rey is still a junior.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:07 PM ^
Robinson, JK, and BWC. Raback it.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:10 PM ^
Denard, Kovacs and Demens.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:11 PM ^
Lloyd Brady and Tacopants.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:19 PM ^
Hoke said we are doing away with temporary captains and that we will have permanent captains from now on. They are:
and
August 26th, 2012 at 9:20 PM ^
Let's be serious, you gotta have him on this.....
August 26th, 2012 at 9:18 PM ^
He posted it thrice.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:41 PM ^
Nicely done
August 26th, 2012 at 10:04 PM ^
is shiny!
August 26th, 2012 at 8:20 PM ^
#16, #32, and #73. Is Taylor Lewan a true or red-shirt junior. On a different note, did red-shirt Juniors get to participate in the leadership program this summer in CA?
August 26th, 2012 at 8:24 PM ^
Lewan is a RS Jr.
I think some RS Jrs were on the leadership trip.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:24 PM ^
Vince "2 Guns" being my sleeper...
August 26th, 2012 at 8:31 PM ^
The team photo has Kovacs in the middle, surrounded by Denard and Roundtree. I haven't looked at past pictures to see if this has any special meaning.
August 26th, 2012 at 8:49 PM ^
You might be onto something here.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:14 PM ^
Denard, Kovacs and Roundtree. Book it.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:26 PM ^
what if it was those three and roundtree sported a nice numuro uno Jersey when they hit the field against bama. I would ok with that.
August 26th, 2012 at 9:33 PM ^
Would make no sense having Roundtree switch to the #1 jersey as he just switched to 21 to honor Desmond. I get the feeling that the 21 has taken the 1 spot.
