Can you leave stadium during game and come back in with ticket?

Wife just asked me, not really sure ... I guess not, but thought I'd ask.

A friend of mine got incredibly wasted pre-game that it finally hit at halftime.  He managed to walk out of the stadium and pass out with his head resting on the curb.  The cops found him, woke him up, and allowed him re-entry.  Don't say it's not possible unless you try.  Or are really freaking lucky like my friend there.

No.  And the sole reason is to punish the non-believers that leave at the end of the 3rd quarter when UM is down by 10.  when UM comes back in the 4th and ties it, all these fake UM fans are trapped at the gates begging to get in.

One of the issues related to the re-entry policy is that some ticket holders used to hand their ticket stub to their buddy on the outside of the stadium.  Then the buddy would re-enter the stadium and "presto" two-for-the-price-of-one.

Back in the '70's, growing up in East Lansing, my high school buddies and I used this trick at Spartan Stadium numerous times.  When we came to Michigan as Freshmen, we tried it once or twice, but stadium officials quickly caught on and booted us all out.

Do they not open the stadium gates in the 4th Q anymore? They were doing still doing that around 5 years ago or so when I lived a block away.  I got to see a couple good endings that way.

Indiana allows re-entry.  Last time I watched UM play there - we went out to our car at halftime for some refreshments.  Pretty cool deal.  Don't know if any other schools allow re-entry but UM does not.

I bet the huge capacity at Michigan stadium would present some issues with re-entry.

I guess Indiana doesn't have to worry about over-capacity. Even if their 10,000 fans give their tickets to 3 people, they'd still have plenty of room. I might have to make that road trip to an IU game soon. Halftime beers and 2-for-1 tickets sounds great!

When I was a kid (70s-80s), you could get a handstamp and go out and come back.  It was awesome!  I was lucky that one of my buddies' family had an awesome parking spot right by Crisler.  We could run out during half time, get food and drinks, and be back in our seats before second half kickoff.  Of course the adults used this time to grab a beer or two.  It beat the every living heck out of watching the band at half-time.

Guests are not permitted to leave Michigan Stadium and return on the same ticket. Re-admittance to Michigan Stadium will be allowed only in the case of an emergency. Those needing to exit Michigan Stadium for this purpose must see the Gate Supervisor through which they exit/re-enter prior to exiting.

You can always try to talk your way out, but "I want to get some beer" is probably not going to fly.
