Can we have a moratorium on negativity?

The season is over. It was a disappointment, but nothing we can say or do can change anything. I would have preferred that it work out differently, but it didn't. Today, UM played a great game, but just couldn't overcome the disadvantage in personnel. I'm already looking forward to next year. The team will continue to improve, and the close games should start going the other way soon. This team is really close to being back. Another year of experience, more depth at QB, and maybe a few recruits and redshirt freshmen to the rescue on defense could be what turns four of this year's losses into wins next year. Hopefully, at mgoblog of all places, we can give the negativity a rest and be thankful that we are Michigan fans. Also, we can realize that we will probably never have to go through what we have the last three years in our lifetimes.

...to those who keep it positive, especially the next few days. I can't speak for anyone else, but it will definitely help me continue to enjoy a great blog community even more.

i think the way to nip negativity at the bud is to flood the board with optimism. lets talk about what good things have happened today. whats done is done - this season is over. instead of going all emo and feeling sorry for ourselves, lets pick ourselves up and look ahead.

I'll understand if people need to vent disappointment, but I can't tolerate the serious negativity. I've got concerns, but I still see a bright future. Today could have gone much worse. This team never gave up, and I'll buy into that.

than some have thought or said. Today's was a much better effort than Illinois, Purdue, or Wisconsin. The kids showed there is talent there, and it will come out more as they physically mature, provided they are coached properly on shedding blocks and tackling as well as what schemes to run. These kids have a lot of ability, much more than they have been given credit for, especially by such as Dollar Bill, who said: "We're in a transition and we all have to be prepared to stay the course," Martin said earlier this week. "Is our record a surprise? Sure. Do I totally support Rich? Absolutely. You don't want to make excuses, but take a look at our personnel. We have only 71 players who came here on scholarship. We've got freshman going against fifth-year seniors in a lot of places. "We didn't have a lot of candidates to replace Lloyd's best players in his last season." http://www.news-herald.com/articles/2009/11/19/sports/nh1718173.txt Today "the personnel" showed they have a lot more heart and talent than they've been credited with. A lttle physical maturation and some quality coaching, and they'll do themselves proud. And Brandon Graham put on a heck of a final show. Everyone who enjoys M football will miss him. Bill Martin, I won't miss.
