Cameron Burrows is a Rivals 5 Star
Rivals is releasing the first 5-stars of the 2013 class and Cameron Burrows is one of them.
For those who don't remember him, Burrows is a CB from Trotwood-Madison in Ohio. Here's a quick write up from the linked Rivals' article:
Burrows is every bit of his listed 6-1 and 195 pounds. Prospects with that size usually get projected to safety, but Burrows is a lockdown cover corner with great speed and quickness. He played cornerback and saw spot duty on offense as a wide receiver for a Trotwood-Madison team that took home the Division 2 state title this past fall and finished with a perfect 14-0 record. On defense, Burrows finished with 26 solo tackles, 20 assists, 12 pass breakups and four interceptions, including one he returned 80 yards for a touchdown in a state semifinals win. He also added eight receptions for 198 yards and a touchdown.
They list his top schools as Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU.
I know that we've offered him, but does anyone have any idea of our chances at landing him?

Isn't he the one that was pretty much an Ohio lock?

And now Quarterback Max Browne with a very unimpressive offer list led by Wisconsin Clemson and Cal...

Just watched his Junior highlights, www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cta5OBuRG94. He looked pretty good and was blessed with what looked to be an excellent high school receiving group. They were making all kinds of diving catches.

Seriously. I was not impressed by his film. His arm doesn't look all that strong, and his accuracy, especially deep is not at all what Morris' is. His receivers were making some really nice catches. They also run the 4-5 wide sets all the time, which is probably why he has 4000 passing yards and 40 TDs. Which is why he's also probably an early 5 star. This is a time when having camps for a kid like Morris who is not on a very good team is really nice.

So Ohio already has 2 five star recruits for the 2013 class. So much for karma and for any sort of slow down so we could overtake them talent-wise. I know this our 2012 class is awesome, but their class will end up not far behind. Sigh.

Oh no, what are we going to do?!? Panic-n-Bitch time people, that's always a successful combo. Worry about Michigan.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:40 AM ^
I am sure she is a nice woman, bitch might be a bit strong ... as for panic i would be worried!!
December 29th, 2011 at 4:20 PM ^
I would say our chances are about zero. Ohio the whole way it looks like.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:21 PM ^
Not one of those "five stars" are white.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:26 PM ^
Not the world we've come to, the world we're still in.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:27 PM ^
I'm not racist but still, its crazy. In the 40's they would all be white.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:32 PM ^
I'm pretty sure there was something called "segregation" back then.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:36 PM ^
go to hockey recruiting if you need a fix
December 29th, 2011 at 5:53 PM ^
Rivals/247/Scout and ESPN were so racist in the 40's. I cant believe all the 5 star recruits on their websites were white!!!!
December 29th, 2011 at 6:40 PM ^
Says the guy who has a handle named for a black guy.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:27 PM ^
"the best will play"
December 29th, 2011 at 5:14 PM ^
You are
December 29th, 2011 at 4:26 PM ^
I am pretty sure the interest in Ohio is high from Rivals. So I would assume he is all Buckeye.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:33 PM ^
Shane Morris is a 5 star for Rivals. He's the number one prospect in the entire class for Scout, so one would hope he's at least a 5 star for Rivals. Although, Rivals has a long history of downgrading michigan commits.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:38 PM ^
Said he might not be one initially because of poor junior year stats but that he'll probably move up and become one after camps and combines and the like.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:37 PM ^
If Shane isn't a 5 star, I have serious doubts about the legitimacy of Rivals QB rankings.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:41 PM ^
He won't be
December 29th, 2011 at 4:43 PM ^
I wouldn't get excited about Burrows. He'll be a Buckeye pretty soon, from what Buckeye sites have been reporting.
December 29th, 2011 at 5:47 PM ^
Burrows is a very hard OSU lean.
December 29th, 2011 at 8:20 PM ^
Hopefully he'll take some SEC visits and the "benefits" will sway him down south.
December 29th, 2011 at 11:00 PM ^
You have zero chance, he is all Buckeye and will be making that public soon, probably just after this year's signing day.
December 30th, 2011 at 12:07 PM ^
You have zero chance of ever sleeping with a woman...
To be clear, this was in response to IHateMichigan's original comment, which has since been deleted...because IHateMichigan is a horrendous douche-bag. No offense intended toward you Elmer.
December 30th, 2011 at 1:32 AM ^
we have a lot of cornerbacks so no issue.
December 30th, 2011 at 11:33 AM ^
I have still yet to see anyone who covers nearly as well as Shaq Wiggins, who really should be a five star. I don't see what makes Cameron a five star and other kids a three or a four. I guess it's all measurables based.
December 30th, 2011 at 12:12 PM ^
Yeah I think Size and Ball Skills are the two big things. Both Burrows and Fuller play offense too where they can show off there athletesism. I still can't wait to see Shaq's Junior highlights though.

Tyrone Swoopes released. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1312660. That is one load of a quarterback to be dealing with in high school.
