Cameron Burrows is a Rivals 5 Star

Submitted by hart20 on

Rivals is releasing the first 5-stars of the 2013 class and Cameron Burrows is one of them.

For those who don't remember him, Burrows is a CB from Trotwood-Madison in Ohio. Here's a quick write up from the linked Rivals' article:

Burrows is every bit of his listed 6-1 and 195 pounds. Prospects with that size usually get projected to safety, but Burrows is a lockdown cover corner with great speed and quickness. He played cornerback and saw spot duty on offense as a wide receiver for a Trotwood-Madison team that took home the Division 2 state title this past fall and finished with a perfect 14-0 record. On defense, Burrows finished with 26 solo tackles, 20 assists, 12 pass breakups and four interceptions, including one he returned 80 yards for a touchdown in a state semifinals win. He also added eight receptions for 198 yards and a touchdown.

They list his top schools as Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU.

I know that we've offered him, but does anyone have any idea of our chances at landing him?

Seriously.  I was not impressed by his film.  His arm doesn't look all that strong, and his accuracy, especially deep is not at all what Morris' is.  His receivers were making some really nice catches.  They also run the 4-5 wide sets all the time, which is probably why he has 4000 passing yards and 40 TDs.  Which is why he's also probably an early 5 star.  This is a time when having camps for a kid like Morris who is not on a very good team is really nice.

Shane Morris is a 5 star for Rivals. He's the number one prospect in the entire class for Scout, so one would hope he's at least a 5 star for Rivals. Although, Rivals has a long history of downgrading michigan commits.

I have still yet to see anyone who covers nearly as well as Shaq Wiggins, who really should be a five star. I don't see what makes Cameron a five star and other kids a three or a four. I guess it's all measurables based.
