Calipari expects 5-7 NBA departures...
Jaylen Brown had said something to the effect of he's waiting to see how the NBA decisions play out at the schools he is favoring.
If we assume Kentucky is one of the leaders for Brown, then I am guessing this would improve their odds of landing him. There will definitely be plenty of minutes available.

With Florida down this year there truly is not a 3rd program in the SEC anymore that had anything within 10 miles of UK in talent. You get an Arkansas, Tennessee or whatnot show up every few yearrs to be halfway decent team but since the Nolan Richardson era it's been a 2 team conference. It's like watching La Liga 8 out of 10 years. They'd have been like Duke and Wisconsin in other conferences - a very good team with 2-3 losses going into the tourney.
what are you comparing to? Can't you say "Kaminsky is the real deal. The rest, meh". If you just mean that they got more hype than they deserve OK, but we're still talking about a team with 8-10 NBA players that lost one game all year and made the final 4. That's worth noting and discussing.
It's a bit like the people who say "what'd they ever win" about the Fab 5. It's still an extraordinary team even though they lost in the FF.
Kentucky was a very good team but people thought they were invincible for some reason.
The SEC is just not very good and they weren't seriously tested since January (conference play). That said, Kentucky was still probably the best team if you pitted them in a 7-game series vs anyone else this year.
The sports media greatly overestimated the gap between them and other elite teams. That's the HOT TAKE sports world we live in.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one... I think Duke or Wisconsin would have a pretty damn good chance of beating Kentucky in a 7 game series. Kentucky's game plan of "we are more talented you" would hurt them in a long series and superior coaching of Coach K and Bo Ryan would prevail over Cal in my opinion.
I think they were overrated in the fact that they are right on the level with Wisconsin and Duke, and not way above them as we all felt coming into the Wisconsin/Kentucky game. Kentucky was one of the best teams in basketball, but not close to one of the greatest teams of all time. Only reason they were undefeated was because of their weak conference...No way they go undefeated in the B1G or ACC
Kentucky would have lost a few games in the ACC or big ten.
I'm just glad Kentucky got waxed. Couldn't happen to a nicer a guy. Calipari is just plain shady. He'll find a way to reload but that being said 2014-15 will forever stick in his craw. The prohibitive favorite and their coach couldn't win when it mattered most.
is hard to do....(you know the tune)
Will we have room for Jaylen Brown if Levert comes back?
I think its been said that the only way would be if Hatch takes a medical scholarship - or whatever you get - or someone else leaves.
Assuming Brown leaves after one year and that Caris would do the same, who ya got? I'll take Brown because its good to keep putting kids in the NBA and it would be a huge recruiting win

Coach Cal teaches the fundamentals well, just look at his most prized player
Brown is actually waiting a Caris, because he wants to be the main guy on the team?
die after 2 early entries.
every player probably goes there expecting to play school for a year or two before going to the league. The team is either in 100% fluff classes or probably has one of the lowest team GPAs in the NCAAs
Not implying any of them are necessarily dumb, just saying none of them go there to get a degree
A friend of mine was able to get into one of their classes, Dinosaurs and Disasters. No homework, just show up and take notes for two exams.
Imagine how good Kentucky is going to be 2 years from now when the salary cap rises!

The Spartans threw in the lemons.
5 of 7 to the NBA?? Hell, Cali, I wouldn't be suprised if 10 of the 12 never returned to Lexington after Saturday's game.... Regardless of the NBA.
