August 12th, 2015 at 10:26 PM ^
as someone with neck issues, he will never be fully recovered.

My n=1 experience is universally applicable!!11!!!!
August 12th, 2015 at 8:44 PM ^
Must've been playing the devil's game known as Peruball.
All joking aside, I hope he makes a full recovery. That's some scary stuff.
August 12th, 2015 at 8:45 PM ^
That sucks so bad for the kid. I really hate hearing about this kind of injury and I hope he makes a full recovery.

Looks like BYU practices are physical. A couple of altercations and the severe injury.
"Hard to watch: After a running play midway through practice, Cougar sophomore linebacker Colby Jorgensen didn't get up.
The former Timpview star was eventually carted off the field and taken to the hospital to be evaluated for a possible neck injury.
Jorgensen redshirted in 2011 because of a shoulder injury. He was originally brought in as a tight end but was moved to defense during the spring.
Who wants to play football: Cougar strength coach Frank Wintrich took center stage for much of Tuesday's practice.
After an altercation on the field between the offense and defense, Mendenhall sent the entire team to one end of the field to do a half hour of conditioning.
After that set, Mendenhall then sent the players back for a second round when another outburst interrupted the practice."

Wow. I've never heard of a dislocated neck before. I figured if your neck dislocated you were dead.
I hope he recovers fully.

Get better young man.
August 12th, 2015 at 8:47 PM ^
Is he better than Mone?
August 12th, 2015 at 8:49 PM ^
How is this relevant?
August 12th, 2015 at 8:52 PM ^
They lose one we 'allegedly' lose one. Which one is a bigger loss? I'm assuming that's what he meant.
August 12th, 2015 at 9:45 PM ^
What happened to Mone?

"Blaze in a fire" would have been way cooler
August 12th, 2015 at 9:02 PM ^
Holy shit yes. And when will he ever get another chance?
August 12th, 2015 at 9:39 PM ^
was very out of ordinary for LA2. I dont recall ever seeing him say something like that.
August 12th, 2015 at 10:20 PM ^
I never said I was happy about it. I'm just curious how their loss compares to ours. That's not insensitive at all. I don't know the kid personally and it sounds he'll be OK, so my obvious concern is about football. This wouldn't even be a thread if we weren't playing them.
August 12th, 2015 at 8:49 PM ^
Damn, tough break, kid. No pun intended.
Here's to a full, speedy recovery.

The kid was recruited as a TE but is currently positioned at linebacker.
Scary injury. Wishing him all the best in his recovery.

That's a nasty, terrifying injury. I will pray for him.

Question for the OP where do you get that he's a "key" player?
August 12th, 2015 at 9:18 PM ^
Cringing just thinking about it. Best wishes to him.

Broken and dislocated neck? Here's hoping he heals quickly, and starts feeling better soon.
August 12th, 2015 at 9:38 PM ^
and if he had a 5 1/2 hr surgery, you know it was way, way serious. wish him a complete recovery.
August 12th, 2015 at 9:39 PM ^
Ouch, is my initial reaction.
August 12th, 2015 at 9:41 PM ^

Had the feeling. Tough having a season ending injury... Had it twice, second was my playing days all together. Sucks, but being able to laugh helped.

Your denial reminds me of a time very early in my career when my boss accused me of being defensive, and I responded (earnestly, not looking for yuks): "I'm not being goddamned defensive!". Then I paused, took a breath, tried to stay chagrined, but instead laughed.
Well-played sir, after the initial lead zeppelin of a joke. Best wishes to Colby on a quick recovery, as this sounds pretty darn serious.
August 12th, 2015 at 9:58 PM ^
it's a neck injury, not much to joke about there.
August 12th, 2015 at 9:45 PM ^

I just hope the young man can walk across a room and hug somebody without difficulty.
Football is secondary.

Colby. May you have a full recovery.

Thoughts and prayers to him and his family.
