Too bad we didn't go after this guy harder.

although he wasn't a JC for academic reasons, that doesn't mean that he would have definitely been admitted. though i agree that if we were sure he wouldn't been, we should have gone after him hard.

The big hole in this class is the pure safety with size and speed. It looks like we are going to do a lot of shifting around and might meet the need anyway.

Do we know that we didn't go plenty hard for him? Just because we were never really in the running doesn't mean we didn't try as hard as we could have. Maybe he simply said "Michigan is not really one of the schools I'm interested in." Maybe we sent him letters and called his coach and there just wasn't any mutual interest.
He's a kid from CA who left USC, went to JC, then opened up his recruitment nationwide. There could be reasons we don't know about that kept us from going after him harder, and there are also a number of reasons that he wasn't interested in us despite our best efforts.
Unless there's actual evidence to support it, I don't know why people say "we should have pursued him much harder" when a kid picks a different school.

Mighty Al thought Moore was coming to Da U. Losing that mighty golden touch Al.
