Vegas has us as a coin flip.
September 21st, 2013 at 11:55 PM ^
It wouldn't be Michigan football unless the other team inexplicably played out of their minds. 2 1/2 quarters of offensive incompetence is......troubling.
September 21st, 2013 at 11:56 PM ^
WEEEEEEEEEEEEE! this is probably the first time I've ever been excited for a bye week. Jeebus these last two weeks man...
September 21st, 2013 at 11:56 PM ^
oh god oh god fix everything in the bye week please so much blood coming out of my eyes right now
September 21st, 2013 at 11:58 PM ^
Just Win, Baby
September 21st, 2013 at 11:59 PM ^
I need this bye week more than Devin and the O-Line.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:00 AM ^
We can't almost lose to one of the worst teams in football for 3 weeks in a row!
September 22nd, 2013 at 3:00 AM ^
I see what you did there...
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:22 PM ^
Oh, I don't know. Have you seen the Bye Week's stats? They're basically all zeros. You could not suck more than that.
And yet, the Bye Week will play out of it's mind and we'll sleepwalk like there is not even a game scheduled.
I think it will come down to the last play again.

Minnesota is going to roll into town with bad QBs and a pro-style running attack. Should be just the tune up we need, we do not do well against these passing spreads.
However, "just the tune up we need" is also what I said before Akron and before UConn so what the hell do I know. PANIC
September 22nd, 2013 at 1:14 AM ^
Just sayin... Although we're not sjsu either.
September 22nd, 2013 at 2:53 AM ^
We are a smidge better than Akron thank you very much!!
September 22nd, 2013 at 10:04 AM ^
than that basketball school, UConn!!
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:07 AM ^
What is the over/under on the amount of turnovers we will have against Bye
Too soon?
I kid to avoid throwing things.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:28 AM ^
I'm sure there will be 4 or 5 turnovers in practice. It's good to be consistent right?
September 22nd, 2013 at 10:05 AM ^
twice this year, so I'm going with an average of 2. I hear BYE is terrible. Worse than Akron.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:09 AM ^
I hope against Minnesota we play other running backs besides Fitz
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:12 AM ^
Sweet Jesus...finally a weekend I can relax. If this team doesn't get it together soon I am going to be a basket case.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:14 AM ^
If it were possible to hug a bye week, I would.

I sure hope there was some sort of computer magical formula you used to figure that out!! Because if I had to total those up I would have to use an abacus and three days to figure that out.
September 22nd, 2013 at 11:26 AM ^
Glad to see the lack of misogyny and no homophobic slurs.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:24 AM ^
We seem to lose a whole lot of the weeks before the bye. This was better. A little.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:31 AM ^
Wow, I never noticed that but you're right. Before tonight, the last time we won going into a bye week was 2005 against Northwestern.
2012: Loss
2011: Loss
2010: Loss
2009: No bye week
2008: Loss
2007: No bye week
2006: No bye week
September 22nd, 2013 at 1:17 AM ^
Before we also lost in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1999, and 2001 (with no bye in 1997). They talk about being rusty after a bye week, but we're actually pretty good then. But before? Two weeks to stew my man.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:31 AM ^
This bye could not have come at a better time. Gardner needs a week to get himself refocused, as well as learning how to take care of the football. His turnover rate is almost hilariously bad at this point.
Would not be shocked to see Minnesota pegged as a slight favorite in two weeks.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:57 AM ^
A favorite? Wow. Overreact much? Minnesota is struggling this year, also and hasn't beaten us at home in a LONG time.
September 22nd, 2013 at 1:04 AM ^
Hope it's not considered that long ago - I'm not that old yet! Am I?
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:35 AM ^
but it wouldn't remotely surprise me if Berkley Edwards plays and runs for 200 yards. That's just how this season seems to be going—regardless of how crappy our opponent appears to be based on their record, they play out of their minds against us, and it doesn't appear as though there's much of a differential in physical talent between us and them.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:25 PM ^
If every opponent is playing out of their minds against us, maybe we're the ones out of our minds.
September 22nd, 2013 at 3:38 PM ^
We used this excuse during the Rod era too. And isn't everyone playing their minds out against 'Bama, or Boise State even? It's not an excuse - good teams put bad teams away. We aren't doing that. As of right now, this team is not a good team. But they've shown promise so let's hope they mature fast.
September 22nd, 2013 at 1:10 AM ^
1 - Wife Day 1 2013
2 - get Bryant some reps
3 - reinstate pos/negs
September 22nd, 2013 at 1:21 AM ^
Will we be seeing jake in the next game? Or not til mid October?
September 22nd, 2013 at 2:03 AM ^
This sucks. Waiting a whole week for the next Michigan game to erase the painful memories of the Akron turd-laying was brutal. Little did I know those memories would be supplanted by a total team meltdown against lowly UConn. I don't know how much alcohol it's gonna take for me to make it through two weeks of nightmare flashbacks of our team responding to that embarrassing performance at home by completely surrendering the point of attack on the road.
September 22nd, 2013 at 3:00 AM ^
Defense was relatively good, offense was the side of the ball doing the melting down.
September 22nd, 2013 at 3:06 AM ^
Think about UM playing like this through the big ten season and THEN remember how it feels to be undefeated....
September 22nd, 2013 at 2:03 AM ^
We're supposed to get the moderation system back during the bye week...so there's that.
September 22nd, 2013 at 4:09 AM ^
Not sure if it's shock or what, but I'm not even panicked... I'm actually surprised we've survived unscathed, and I do think there's actual talent on the offensive line that simply needs time to gel.
Derrick Green needs to get his ass in shape so we have another backfield option.
Also, it's really feeling more and more like Devin's just pressing. He's getting so impatient with the lack of success that it's just throwing the offense just enough off to make it feel like a collossal disaster.
I honestly think this is a situation where we're not as bad as we've played the last 2 weeks, and we're not as good as the team that steamrolled Central and knocked off ND.
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:45 AM ^
Interview makes me more angry. I'm sick of him making excuses for the players
I'm sick of Hoke being so non-chalant about everything. This is a big deal. Gardner is playing worse than denard. The only thing we can do is run the qb option. Our O-line got pushed around it 3.5 quarters against Uconn and all game against Akron! What is happening? What happened to all those mean, physical O-linemen Hoke was recruiting?! Where's the physicality with our fronts?! I guess we all need to take a step back and analyze what's really going on. Perhaps we are just a 7 win team? Perhaps we will get crushed by MSU and OSU? Perhaps this is not reality and everything we saw is in the matrix? Who knows... I'm freaking out. That's all I know.
September 22nd, 2013 at 3:57 PM ^
You hide it so well.
September 22nd, 2013 at 9:18 AM ^
Every player needs to look in the mirror. Despite the miscues on O and special teams we're 4-0. We miss you Molk.
September 22nd, 2013 at 9:32 AM ^
I blame Dave Brandon.
...we can't lose. Let's stay healthy and I'd look for changes. Hoke said the Bye Week is where you switch things up...well, it's here.
Get healthy! Stay healthy!
September 22nd, 2013 at 9:54 AM ^
We need to shake up the interior. I say put Mag at RT Sho at LG and Bryant at Center and road grade some dudes. I get that a center needs to make the right calls, but if he's getting blown into the backfield or whiffing blocks all day he needs to sit. Glasgow doesn't seem to move anybody either. The middle of our OL is responsible for FOUR negative carries in the first half against a horrible team.
September 22nd, 2013 at 10:07 AM ^
how we beat Notre Dame? They must be terrible. Also, I feel Central could have made a better showing against us.
September 22nd, 2013 at 12:30 PM ^
I swear half of it is Notre Dame freaking out from previous losses and not realizing that they actually can beat us.
If ND was the 4th game on this year's schedule and not the 2nd, they'd have crushed us.
Just observing how to properly defend DG on the Waggle would have been worth 14 points for them alone.
September 22nd, 2013 at 11:46 AM ^
We are 112th in TO margin and the offense has given up a TD in 3 straight games. Gardner still has not completed a game without an int. Hopefully that gets fixed.
