are giving credit where credit is due.  if Urban does take the Ohio job (and assuming that the fix is in at the NCAA), we'll be looking at another ten year war.  Good for the greatest rivalry in sport.

Atleast some posters pointed out that its no different then them calling us scUM or that team up north.  But those fans seem to be very few and far between.

We will call then Ohio state when they refer themselves as such instead if their circle-eche-teepee-circle dance they do. Also the completely classless " we dint give a damn about the whole state if Michigan" song doesn't give these people much base to work from.

It's probably the same guy who cavalierly dropped his hot dog wrappers on the ground after the game without even a thought. Probably because there aren't garbage cans every two feet.

who's an idiot. He calls Hoke classless then proceeds to call him things like "fat", "flounder", "slob", and "ass clown." The irony is pretty funny. The next couple comments I read through are fine. They're no worse than what we say on this blog.

One guy even said this: "He's not so bad. Good coach, great staff and a HUGE win. Urban will have his hands full in the future. This guy ain't mr nice guy Lloyd Carr."

A surprising amount even give credit to Hoke for winning today.

"We had to overthrow recievers all day and we were injured"

Guess what.

We gave you the ball twice inside our 35 (punt drop and the fumble), we gave you a free TD on the first series from blown coverage, and you still didnt win.

We put up 450 yards of offense on your D, and essentially had our way with them.

Dont forget, the only reason this "overthrown TD" would have had anyh impact was because they reversed a TD, and then called dual penalties on us.

Unbelieveable. Injuries happen, its why your team has depth charts.

This is exactly what went through my mind when i was reading their comments. They are just a bunch of children who only see what they want to see which to them meant blown officiating and freshman QB handing us a win...when in reality we both had calls that helped and hurt us, our offense won us a game today and our defense did what they had to do to win...all the other stuff is a push

...look in the mirror at their treatment of Fickell, and how they've allowed the media to treat Fickell for a grade A example of classlessness.

Fickell seems to be a decent guy and a loyal servant of Ohio thrown into a thankless situation who's done the best he can, and they've allowed him to be portrayed as a dead man walking for weeks now.

Personally, I think that is a repugnant way to treat one of your own who has done his best after suddenly being thrust into a high-pressure situation due to events largely beyond his control.

For shame, Ohio.

..and came to the same conclusion.

poop on 26 November 2011 - 4:00pm #

I think that the "Fuck Fickell" comment was just stupid. He walked into a 5-alarm blaze because his school needed him to. He's no doubt been through hell trying to keep everyone together while every douche with a media pass asks him what he thinks about Meyer taking his job. I agree that he's not a good head coach but he deserves some respect for keeping his sanity intact this season.

That the sanest poster on their postgame rant thread goes by the name of "poop" is a piece of irony I think I'll leave for another time.

I've never seen a bigger group of crybabies after a loss than the group that cheer for Ohio.  They make excuses about everything, then when that river runs dry, they make the smallest little ant hill into Mt. Everest.

I mean honestly, they're really upset that Hoke calls them "Ohio"?  scUM = class, Ohio = classless.  Most delusional fans on the face of the earth.

I actually ended up watching the game with a Buckeye fan, and unfortunately know a couple. This is a completely indefensible position, and one I don't think is representative of any large portion of the fan base.....All that said, Go Blue!!!

didn't say too much in that op post other then thinking Urban would beat Michigan, not sure what the issue is. We won today and we have to prepare to win moving forward. Dunn is a great addition to a great start.

I sat next to a (dare I say) reasonable bucknut fan during the game today and he said he actually prefers watching The Game in Ann Arbor vs Columbus because there are fewer obnoxious tsio fans to put up with. HA

Buckeyes calling another school's coach classless for calling them "Ohio" after Tressel's lies and Gene Smith's lack of contrition?  After "That School Up North?"  After "THE" Ohio State University?  After calling themselves "Bucks" instead of "Buckeyes"?

Good times.

I really think that meeting their team bus as it pulls in, unannounced and without warning, with police dogs to sniff them all for bomb-making material etc. was an incredibly classless thing to do. A player could have had a phobia about dogs, the dogs might have slipped their leash.... And generally it was a greasy way to get a cheap psychological advantage.

Oh, sorry. My mistake. That was the classy Saint Tressel. But calling Ohio State "Ohio" is of course much worse.

#1 Ohio State's Marching Band spells out "Ohio"

#2 Ohio State's fans chant O-H I-O -- never a state in there

#3 Many citizens of Ohio actually do call OSU - Ohio

Are we actually talking about Hoke referring to OSU as Ohio?
