Buckle Up?

Submitted by 1464 on
I saw a tweet that Newsome will be tweeting his decision later this week. Another tweet suggested that Sam Webb has a good ole gut feeling on this one. After googling the tweet, I discovered that 1) Sam Webb believes that Newsome goes blue and 2) Scout is bad at hiding their paywalled forum info from Google. And yes, I understand fully how dorky this paragraph turned out, buckle up nonetheless.

Grant Newsome. 4* OL. Offers from LSU, Bama, et al. Two horse race between Mich and PSU. Sounding good for the good guys, though.

Michigan needs some numbers in this class at OL, especially without getting huge numbers from last year's class. I always prefer 6 OL per every two cycles, so they'll still be below that, but this at least balances out the OL numbers a bit so we aren't as likely to end up with 1 scholarship upperclassman offensive lineman in the future.

So despite your comment being sarcastic, this is a benefit if it comes to fruition that he picks Michigan.

Hindsight being 20/20, I like what Michigan got instead.

Two QBs, one is cemented in history forever and one whose records will never be touched, most likely.

Newsome transferred out of PSU to Temple and would ultimately quit Football with eligibility left.

There was a lot of hope in North Philly after Newsome transferred and sat out his year that he would end up a solid contibutor. Then HC Steve Addazio wouldn't know what to do with an elite athlete if he came with instructions.

I'd say that Newsome's university "career" worked out better than Tate despite the numbers; he's got a Temple degree. Tate, sadly, got cut by my beloved Hamilton Tiger Cats.

OP, I think I'm too old or dumb to understand your explanation of where you saw this.  Any chance you could point us to the particular tweets/URLs you're looking at?

Thanks!
