Is your google broken or something?
November 30th, 2015 at 1:44 PM ^
Is it really that much to ask for the OP to say who he's talking about - or daresay link to a recruiting profile - when indicating a kid might commit to Michigan?
November 30th, 2015 at 1:48 PM ^
Of course the OP should have included it. But given that the OP did not, I would think a reader would type the name into google and hit enter rather than type the name into MGoBlog and hit enter.
Both parties did something dumb.
November 30th, 2015 at 1:50 PM ^
I think Denver is asking are there two wrongs here or three...and seems to have an opinion that there are three.
November 30th, 2015 at 1:54 PM ^
Really? I read Denver's post as saying the OP screwed up. I agree with him.
P.S. Obviously who cares. I just like arguing on the internet.
P.P.S. Maybe Ford's original post was just a snarky way of saying "hey you should include more info in your OP." In which case I have no problem with it, except that it doesn't really get the message across clearly.
November 30th, 2015 at 2:20 PM ^
I was saying:
- The OP blew it
- You come off as a major wanker to Ford, kind of defending the OP
- Ford's question was pretty reasonable to me
Some other things:
- You should all be giving Cranky Dave some upvotes
- Yes, clearly you like to argue on the internet LJ. Good job.

Okay I concede.

Pretty nice here. I love it. (note, I'm not the same Denver as above)

But only one of them was a douche... Oh wait, it wasn't one of them!
November 30th, 2015 at 4:51 PM ^
Okay, okay, you're right. I oversnarked. I'll say my 20 Hail Harbaughs as penance and move along.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:48 PM ^
I read that like a Jeopardy answer. Didn't think he was actually asking who KJ Sails is.

Twitter does suck. It has made even grown ass men behave like 13 year old girls.
November 30th, 2015 at 2:17 PM ^
I literally can't even.
November 30th, 2015 at 2:28 PM ^
Can't even what? You're dealing with somebody here who is over 40.
November 30th, 2015 at 2:37 PM ^
Can't tell if you're serious or not but since you're over 40...
"I can't even..." could mean a lot of things as in... he's laughing his ass off and can't even finish the sentence or he's just flabbergasted and can't finish the phrase.
Young people lingo.

I avoid Twitter like the plague. I did try it at one point but it was obvious that 99.8% of the "content" on it is complete worthless garbage that does no one any good. The only people who might benefit from it are celebrities who need to keep their name/face in front of people in any way they can.
November 30th, 2015 at 2:28 PM ^
Saying "social media" is dumb is just silly. Twitter's admittedly done a crap job of making it easy for people to get value out of the product when they sign up, but if you put the time in to follow the right folks, it'll become an indispensible part of how you get news about anything you care about. If you're interested in sports/Michigan stuff, I've got a big list of folks you can pick off and follow here: https://twitter.com/daveheal/lists/sports/members
Another good method for finding good people to follow is to look through who people you respect are following. So: going through Brian's follows and seeing who seems interesting is a good way to start off.

JBE... logged on just to upvote you. I usually say it a different way (see my signature below), but I like your wording better. +1000.
November 30th, 2015 at 4:34 PM ^
Eh, my father, who is one of the most practical and intelligent, as well as old-fashioned, people I have known has only caved in to one social media. That would be Twitter.
If used prudently (i.e. don't follow unintelligent or unverified/unvetted accounts) it can be a crazy efficient source of information. You get current events or breaking sporting news on Twitter hours if not days before you see it on TV. Of all the social media outlets I think Twitter is the least harmful to society. Facebook is facebook and Instagram is more vain than a Carly Simon song. Plus Twitter CEO is a Wolverine. Give em a break.

For some reason I keep picturing 1995 Lloyd Carr reading this post, having no idea what it means, and scowling about society.
