BTPowerhouse: Big Ten Basketball Blog
SBNation, home to MaizenBrew, BHGP, EDSBS, BurntOrangeNation, TheOnlyColors, etc, has a new basketball only blog to cover the Big Ten Conference, much like Off Tackle Empire for football.
BTPowerhouse is a joint effort between SBNation and CBS College Sports, and began posting today. In their inaugural post, they predict Michigan 8th in the Big Ten by season's end with an NIT bid. That's the king of the Lower Tier, baby.

Yeah we'll see who is king of the lower tier when we pound Sparty's ass at the Crisler this year! GO BLUE

Let's beat them twice.

I'm all for beating sparty but I could do without seeing any ass pounding at the game

Will they be as anti-MICH, pro the other league teams like OTE?

if there's a Buckeye as one of the main contributors like there is on OTE. They can't seem to help the fact that they spread bile like a rain cloud.

I'd really like that blog if it didn't have such an anti-Mich slant. Even the commenters hate Michigan more than any other school, yeah I know we used to kick their teeth in every year, but get a life.

Predicting Northwestern in the NCAA tournament is like predicting cows flying through space on a rocket-powered rainbow sled made of wishes.

Actually, most media outlets are predicting that Northwestern will make the tournament. Of course, that doesn't make it right, but it's not like it's an out-of-nowhere prediction.

Nice simile: this is a lot better than the usual "when pigs have wings" or "when monkeys fly out my butt" fare.

at 8-0, and having a very talented Basketball team Northwestern will make the tournament

I am curious to see how this season plays out. Seems to be a lot of optimism surrounding the program this year compared to last at least. We will have a much greater idea of what kind of grit this team has after that rough Big Ten schedule + Kansas. It would be at least satisfying to see Michigan upset Sparty and make Izzo suspend himself for blunt force head trauma against the wall after the first match up.

Well right away from the first post I can tell this blog is going to be a must-read. A Big 10 power poll...how creative! Forget the other 10 websites where I can find the exact same thing, I'm going here first! The author's biting sense of humor will certainly be entertaining as well. Can you imagine how much it burned Iowa fans when he told them to "stick to football"? Ouch! The deep thorough analysis he does will also really enhance my knowledge of Big 10 basketball; for instance I learned that Michigan, Indiana and Penn State will all make the NIT, which will give the Big 10 two teams in that tournament. So informative! Sure the post is littered with misspellings and grammatical errors, but I mean it was his first post so I'll cut the guy some slack. I'm sure all the time he spent on research made it impossible to do any editing. All in all, this blog looks like a sure-fire winner in my book!
