BTN2go, BTN Plus for M/MSU game?

Submitted by BlueMetal on

This is my first topic here so hopefully I don't get lambasted too badly.  It just dawned on me that I'll be camping for the Michigan/Michigan State game.  I'm prepared to bring my TV and whatever streaming devices I need to make this work if possible.  I have the BTN2Go app but haven't really needed to use it before so I'm unsure how it works.  Does it show all Big Ten games or just the game thats being televised on Big Ten Network?  If the latter, will BTNPlus allow me to watch the game?  If not, any other options?  Thanks in advance.

You would need the WatchESPN app for this one. If you have BTN2Go you should have access to it.

On another note, you scheduled a camping trip during the Michigan MSU game?

It will most likely be on ABC, so no btn2go. Most of the time ABC games you can get on watchespn. If that is no go sign up for a free account at ustvnow. Gives you major networks in SD.

ESPN will airing it on ABC. ABC will be broadcasting it with ESPN. You're going to need the WatchESPN app to watch it on ABC.

Why on Earth would someone plan to camp during football season? Unless there is TV there, that is just weird.

You're not crazy. I've been known to miss or only watch half of a UNLV type game. But missing a big game against MSU would never happen. There are very few things that would keep me from watching the game live.

I skipped the wedding, though my wife went. I did make the reception, though I really didn't enjoy it after witnessing the assault on Desmond. Another cousin also married on the day of another loss to Sparty---the Demetrius Brown intercept-fest. At least that one was a road game. And now my daughter schedules hers for the same day as next year's Penn St. game. A Michigan home game, 0f course.

I blame my ex.

Unless you're camping near the Big House...so, you get a tee time for 4, late on friday...along the back nine you stash the cart--which was filled with camping gear and beer--and lay low in the bushes.  At dark, you set up camp, but no fires allowed.  Your car is parked at pioneer, so you dash over and grab the charcoal grill, briquettes and cooler filled with burgers and, of course, more beer.  Now, running the line all the way back to your running car to power your portable tv and speakers is a little more daunting, but hey, that's what black wire and duct tape are for, right?  Now, that's camping.  See you on the hike to the Big House!  Go Blue.

You could also get a digital antenna and get the game on ABC that way depending on where you are camping. Or if you have an Apple TV you can stream watch ESPN from that. Besides the obvious hdmi hookup from device to tv

Yeah scheduling the camping trip during football season was questionable, especially without looking at the schedule. But trying to get some family time in.

Get your ESPN and BTN2GO (just to have it ready and running) ahead of time, as you may have to sign in by way of your cable company or something similar and annoying. It wasn't horrible to get mine running, but it took a few minutes as I had to get this cable company account up and running as well as the ESPN and BTN2GO apps. If you have an iPhone, the Apple TV works really well with it.

I recommended making sure you can login ahead of time. That way if you have issues you'll have time to troubleshoot and, God forbid, call your provider if it doesn't work.
