BTN Media Days Player Survey Results

Submitted by Dilla Dude on

The Big Ten Network's annual player survey results are in

The BTN conducted a player survey that included a respondent from all 13 schools in attendance (Nebraska did not attend the event due to punter Sam Foltz’s death).

Rules: Players’ answers were anonymous and they could not use their school for any answer.

Thoughts? I was a bit surprised Maryland had most votes for 'Best Helmet', as well as Paul Chryst getting more votes than JH for 'Coach you'd like to play for'.

Nobody listens to rock or heavy metal?

Only 1 uses Twitter or Facebook?

4 players ranked Michigan State the Big Ten favorite?

I'm in some alternate universe.

It's obvious there's a sentiment of resentment between other coaches and Harbaugh. Obviously reflects with the players' answers. Just today, Durkin took a minute swap at Harbaugh and satellite camps in his opening statement. 4th and 5th year seniors won't fall far from the coaching tree with their answers.

wow, had I not read any offseason info I would never have assumed MSU was the odds on favorite to win the BigTen (per this small data poll) after losing their best ever QB.I'm aware Michigan and OSU are ranked higher presason. But I really had no clue MSU had such a good team again. I would have guessed 4th or 5th in the BigTen. I guess we'll see.

but I think they bring some lineman back that were hurt throughotu the season and their running back is decent. Their QB was highly rated and in the QB competition a few years ago, so he might not be as much of a drop off as we expect.  Recievers I think are just as much or more of a problem for their passing game. On defense, their young secondary is a year older after getting a ton of experience and it sounds like their linebacker core should be good. Defensive line lost some standouts, but still has some players.

It's a huge mistake believing that it's a 2 horse race. I do believe Michigan will come out the winner this year, but I think Michigan State will still do well, relying on a running game and solid defense.

After being in 11 of the 13 road locker rooms, I'm assuming the 4 votes for Iowa is because of the pink walls. Nebraska does make sense as it was formerly a home locker room.
