BTN & Dish reach deal

Submitted by varsity on
Reports online and twitter that multi-year deal reached early this morning. Having trouble getting link on phone - sorry - but it's out there.

Time Warner cable also will have NFL network starting Sunday and with sports pass NFL redzone. Apparently these providers are getting sick of all the complaints.

I was in the process of shopping for a new provider as a result of them dropping BTN and AMC (The Walking Dead premier is mid-October). I may still switch to get AMC; it doesn't sound like Dish and AMC are going to resolve things anytime soon as now they're in court. TWD is the only non-sports programming I really want to watch immediately when each episode first airs.

I'm stuck with DISH up here in Alaska. Due to location/terrain, I can only access one satellite that doesn't carry the BTN in any case. Fought with them for years over this and have given up. So, this short period where they dropped BTN didn't mean anything to me as I NEVER got the BTN from them. However, I'm gonna miss AMC once Walking Dead starts. I'll tell you one thing, once I retire and relocate, I WILL NEVER SUBSCRIBE TO DISH AGAIN!

I personally loved directtv while I had it.  Fox soccer in HD, BTN and BTN alternate channels in HD, Gol TV in Hd, and great coverage of all of the major golf tourny's,etc..  I have to have comcast because of where I live and comcast sucks.  No BTN alternates in HD and Fox soccer in Hd, simply ridiculous that I can't get these channels in HD.

switched to Direct because of all the games Dish (i had Dish for over 10 years) plays with channels.

If i had known how much better Direct was....i would have switched a LONG time ago.
