Brundidge update

Submitted by Knight on

Saw on my facebook that Carlton Brundidge will sign his letter of intent tomorrow @ 11 if anyone was wondering.

I was definitely wondering about this, him and Trey in the back court is gonna be a nasty combination. Now if only we can snag Amir Williams I would be in pure euphoria.

Unfortunately, snagging Williams isn't sounding very likely, despite Michigan making a strong, late push:

Multiple sources have begun to report that Detroit Country Day basketball standout Amir Williams, despite some late, promising visits to Ann Arbor, will be choosing between Ohio State and Florida for his commitment this Wednesday. It sounds like Michigan is going to take the bronze in the recruiting race for the 6'9" center... which means they will take nothing.

They didn't bring OSU up from the dead.  OSU was an established program.  I believe they won the Big Ten when those two were HS seniors.  Your friends may not want to admit it, but over the past decade, OSU has flat-out been a better basketball program than either of the Indiana schools.

Sorry, but we are not in a position at which we can assume malfeasance on the part of any school that beats us for a recruit.  Florida and OSU have been to a combined five Final Fours since 1999, won a boatload of conference titles, and Florida has won two national titles.  Over that same stretch, we've, uh . . .  won one tourney game and an NIT.  And we won't even get into the topic of facilities, or fan support.

...it.  Not because I was worried, but because I'm tired of hearing some complain about Brundidge's inability to conform the scheduling of his LOI signing to their preferences.

is living in a really cool fantasy land. Disappointment, sure, but nobody should have thought him anything other than Florida or OSU's recruit to lose.

Well then I sure hope he goes to Florida if he doesn't come here.

I get why Florida is a national draw for football, but I just can't see a recruit getting excited about SEC basketball, with UK being the only exception.
