Bruce Feldman Blog About Michigan
The Michigan Wolverines will not lose to the Connecticut Huskies this Saturday afternoon. Yes, I know the Huskies have won four straight road openers, but Rich Rodriguez's teams were favored by 14, 23 and 20 points the last three times he played UConn -- and they covered each time, winning by a combined 103 points. Keep an eye on Wolverine QB Denard Robinson. He's going to make a big difference this fall especially behind a deeper, more experienced O-line. The downside: too bad he can't also play CB for the Wolverines.
I'll take it!!

i just saw this article, Feldman seems to have a good vibe about our team this year, he put us in his pre season top 25 not that it means anything but it is good to see that there is a national media member with some good things to say about Michigan

...has been the most consistently positive of the national CFB press about Michigan's prospects this year. Nice for the support. He has set himself up to be the one "I told you so" guy in the MSM.

What are you talking about? All of them will still say "I told you so" and when it is pointed out to them, they will either ignore it or lie about it.

Feldman is also one of the ESPN personalities who really seems to follow college football closely. I value his opinion over folks like Herbie and Corso.

Herbie and Corso don't follow college football closely? Really?
I mean, if you don't respect their opinions, whatever. But the issue isn't that they don't "follow college football closely."

They may follow college football closely...
But they can't follow every team (including UM) closely enough to be truly informed. Instead they end up with a cursory knowledge of many teams.

Herbie deserves some serious consideration, but I think Corso is just a clown. That's not necessarily an insult. He's the designated jester / friendly old guy / former coach on that show (which is, itself, entertainment first... always remember). The opinions he gives just prior to donning the costume of the day are usually pretty superficial distillations of whatever is in the air. Let's put it this way: I wouldn't expect him to think any deep thoughts about all those BS Freep articles.

has always been pretty fair in his evaluations of Michigan. I also like his chats on espn.com, he is a lot of fun and has good insight.
Here's hoping his hunch is correct. Go Blue!

...is a MUST WIN for Michigan. UConn isn't under as much pressure to win by playing on the road and as only a prohibitive favorite.
I'm thinking they're a bit nervous about this game, and M is starting to feeling more confident (but not over confident).
August 30th, 2010 at 2:34 PM ^
I thought Vegas had M as the 3 point favorite.
August 30th, 2010 at 2:54 PM ^
And UConn has been a "sexy" "expert" pick to beat us
August 30th, 2010 at 4:13 PM ^
gives 3 points, if we got 3 points we would be +3

I'm hoping he is right, we've got to believe RR has been scouting this game like crazy since last year knowing that his job could be riding on it. I expect the team to be very well prepared and shred UCONN.
August 30th, 2010 at 2:31 PM ^
says Michigan will go 11-1 this year. So I like him even more than Feldman.
August 30th, 2010 at 2:39 PM ^
Yea, but this isn't a revenge game, so his prediction for this game is flimsy at best.
August 30th, 2010 at 6:26 PM ^
but every game this year is a revenge game.
August 30th, 2010 at 3:13 PM ^
Despite my lack of confidence in RR, I fucking love Michigan football and can't wait to see them back on the field!!! Ok, so maybe the defense is a weak spot, but we will score some points. Lots of them.
GO BLUE!
August 30th, 2010 at 3:26 PM ^
we'll have to. Our defense will cost us about 3 or 4 games. As long as our offense is able to keep scoring we'll be close in games we shouldn't be and roll over teams with equally (if it's possible) bad defenses.
August 30th, 2010 at 4:46 PM ^
Now that he's brought it up, maybe we can have Denard play cornerback! And all the other defensive positions too.

Adda boy Bruce. At least someone from ESPN knows something about college football.
