On a semi-related-but-not-really, note....this weekend pretty much sucks for College Football.  They needed to take a couple of the good matchups and put them into this week because it's a huge drop off (yes, I understand that's not how this works, that's not how any of this works).  No top-25 matchups, nor are any really close.

Agreed about all CFB really being a good thing, I shouldn't be too harsh! It is nice to have a good match-up or two between known good teams each Saturday. But to your point, for example down here in Iowa we have Iowa-Iowa St. Saturday night, which is always an interesting watch for us (but not necessarily nationally).

Been deciding whether i want to start Emmanuel Sanders over Eddie Lacy in my flex. I have a good feeling about Lacy this year, but with both of the Panthers CBs being rookies I think there could be some good touches for both Sanders and Thomas. EDIT: Also mulling over Stewart in the flex over Jeremy Maclin in my other league, it's a deeper league and I think they could both have rough games.

I read that the Broncos took control of the naming rights from the city and are looking for the next sponsor to buy the rights.  They decided not to take Sports Authority name off until they have a new naming partner.

Yes.

Part of the bankruptcy proceedings for SA involves resolving the naming rights which has been settled.  Now the Broncos need to find a new sponsor.  The rights are something along the lines of a 3yr - $25M deal, or in the range of $8M/year.  The Broncos pitched my firm - somewhat knowing that we'd never do it and in the end, doesn't make sense for my Wall St firm - on the rights ....

There's sort of a joke now that the naming rights are the kiss of death after both INVESCO and SA took turns, but also the fact that Denver is a very Oil/Energy-based market and most of those companies that might likely be candidates are taking it on the chin over the past 2yrs and in addition to falling stock prices and dried up revenue, the appearance of paying for the naming rights in the midst of the Energy decline would be bad.

It has been said that more than one Cannabis company has offered to pay for the rights and keep it as Mile HIGH ...but no way.

Go Broncos!!

Idk...I think it depends where you grew up. Obviously, a lot of people on this board are from Michigan and grew up choosing or following UM or the Lions, which - yeah - that sucks. I'd hate to be a Lions fan. It would totally make me apathetic to the NFL. But I grew up in the Bay with one of the greatest dynasties in football history. My earliest memories are Montana, not Bo. I never got into college football until my late teens; by that point, I'd already been to dozens of Niners games.

Long story short: Both are great. I grew up with NFL and love it. When I went to UM, I learned to love that too...
