I think Gerhart also stole the Heisman jinx. He deserved the award, and he decided if he couldn't have the hardware, he'd at least take the fall. His sacrifice cleared the way for 'Bama and Ingram.

I don't know about that, Gerhart played pretty well against Oklahoma considering he had a lame quarterback in front of him. He broke the century mark with basically no passing offense.

The NC is on the line, you have the ball at the 3? something like that. What are you going to do, take a knee when Texas has 3 TO left? Would you be mad if Rich Rod did the same thing...in ANY game?

The NC was not on the line. The game was over. Take a fucking knee. I believe Texas had one timeout, which they doubtfully even would have used. And, Yes, I would be disappointed if Rich Rod did the same thing.

The title was hardly "on the line," given that Bama had a 10-point lead with under a minute to go. Texas only had one timeout remaining. The only way Texas could have gotten the ball back was from a Bama turnover or score. Saban was not only being an asshole, he actually gave UT a tiny opening there.

that's right. One TO. They could have easily run the clock out. Saban caught no-class-itis from Urban, not that he didn't already have a lesser form of the disease, when he shook his hand after the SEC championship.
