drew: "back with mgoblog right after this"
This should be hilariously frustrating for one party. Which? I'm not sure.
Also, here's [maybe] the link to the live feed.
Ugh, this could be bad. With Mike's pro-MSU stance and the duos general lack of knowledge when it comes to college football, it could be tough for Brian to make any intelligent points.
Actually from the short time that I've listened to Drew & Mike this week, Mike hasn't been nearly as obnoxious as you'd imagine on this issue.
Drew has thoroughly dissected other issues or stories on the air, but it's hard to tell how far he really cares to dig on this. I could see him buying what Brian is saying but I can also see him mocking Brian with the whole 'people from the internet are wacky, conspiracy theorists' meme.
From what I've heard on their show this week, both seem to think the article is a bit of reach.
I haven't listened to Drew and Mike in years, but isn't Drew a Michigan fan?
he was either a fan or sympathetic to them, as opposed to Mike. For what it's worth, Mike's string of voice mail's to Drew during the 2004 MSU game may be the funniest thing you will ever hear.
i remember that. listening to those voicemails was like listening to a man's soul getting crushed in the most hilarious fashion you can possibly imagine.
I remember hearing this for the first time in 2005. They were replaying them the day I moved into the dorms my freshman year. Absolutely hilarious and it helped pump me up/ease my nerves before move in.
actually they talked him up pretty good in the teaser b4 the break...the same thing they did to rosenburg b4 they interviewed him ealier in the week.
Drew went to VaTech. Has no local allegiance but seems to go to a lot of Michigan games.
what she said.
after the break they said.
The producer who was filling in for Drew (I feel bad for forgetting his name as he's very good) is a big sports guy and I believe an M fan.
the lead-in includes Hail to the Victors and a nice intro for Brian.
in the background was SWEEEEEEET!
and his knowledge of M football. Also, like the fact that he is trying to give a fair and balanced point of view.
Yeah, this interview has gone way better than I expected. Very good listen.
and a lot of excellent "inside blogging" questions. (Mike's not saying much, haha.)
Brain was treated well lots of pub for the site. Good interview.
Stands in stark contrast to the Albom interview where Mitch just seemed to spend the time trying to discredit bloggers in general. Drew & Mike were very respectful. I also was impressed how they asked questions with the apparent intent of highlighting Mgoblog as a legitimate news source. Even went so far as to point out Brian has writers with press credentials granted by the University. Nice job!
It is fascinating how people with invested interests in the future of print media come down on the Rosenberg side of this but coaches, players, or other objective media types (i.e. - not Valenti) all seem to see this thing for the shoddy piece of journalism that it is.
The one sad part of the interview was Drew & Mike pointing out that even if Michigan gets exonerated completely by the Big 10 and NCAA, the article will still stain the program. The spin will be, "Michigan got away with something, but they're still cheaters" and not "Mike Rosenberg is an unethical douchebag". This was a point that Brian agreed with them on and noted that is why so many of us are angry. Bummer.
Shit, I missed it. Is their show podcasted?
