Brian on WTKA this morning

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

This one had it all...anger...denial....Brian fed up....Brian asking for apologies....Stand Edwards asking for apologies...even 45 seconds of basketball talk....and probably more opinion than we've gotten from Brian since at least Monday. I won't go so far as to say it's juicy, but you can tell there's a lot of emotions out there this week.

Michigan sports, most notably football, is used as a "tool" for everyone to escape.  For the years prior to RR's arrival, things have been sort of bad in the State of Michigan.  The economy, the Detroit Tigers and Lions and I guess anything else can be applicable.  Michigan football was a light that gave hope in a time of darkness.  The hope was knowing that we had a realistic chance of winning every game and with a proven and reliable track that resulted in a bowl game for the holidays.

But now, during and since RR's arrival, the economy is worse, the lions and pistons are bad, tigers are mediocre.  The lack of success in recent years of Mich football is resulting in the lack of hope that people despirately want and need.  I do blame people who are upset as its been a rough few years in their everyday lives as well as their "escape"  Just like a line in which i am paraphrasing from the movie "Pretty Woman"(i was forced to watch it with the lady), it is easier to believe and accept the negative than it is for the postive".

Maybe wrong place at wrong time for RR with everything else going on in the world, maybe he can bring hope and is able to restore the light or maybe Harbough is "a new hope".   Whomever is the coach, I hope that the light is restored and with some haste or it could be ugly.

Brian's "Sorry Stan," is further evidence for my case: Brian Cook is the dude...

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

A crowded Virgin flight was cancelled after Virgin's 767s had been
withdrawn from service. A single attendant was re-booking a long line of
inconvenienced travellers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to
the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, "I HAVE to
be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS". The attendant replied,
"I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've got to help
these people first, and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out."

The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers
behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"

Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address
microphone: "May I have your attention please, she began - her voice
heard clearly throughout the terminal. "We have a passenger here at Gate
14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his
identity, please come to Gate 14." With the folks behind him in line
laughing hysterically, the man glared at the Virgin attendant, gritted
his teeth and said, "Fuck You!" Without flinching, she smiled and said,
....... "I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too."

We have a team built around a core of young players that is improving.  I would hate to see us take a step back.  I also believe Harbaugh ultimately has his eye on the NFL and this could be just a stepping stone - we could be back in the same position in 2-3 years.
