Our government is much more likely to label a crime "terrorism" if the perp was a Muslim. This is because our military makes money bombing Muslim countries. There isn't really any proper definition of "terrorism" any more. It's a definition-free term which nonetheless carries extreme legal weight. As in, they can suspend all the rights you are guaranteed by the Constitution if they feel like using that word.

Let's not go there, bro. Not on this blog.

This whole situation is just sad.

I especially feel bad for Morris again. That was the worst day I've ever experienced as a Michigan fan...worse than App St., any OSU loss, any loss period. That was rock fucking bottom.

I'm going to go watch some hype videos.

Honestly, I would expect Brian to say this. For his good qualities, one I don't like is his stubbornness. Especially when it comes to stuff like this. It's freaking sports. You can love them, but once you start comparing people with different ideas to you to terrorists, you've already lost. Leave that to Brandon. Brian has rationally expressed all grievances about the AD and Brandon and those gained a lot of ground leading to Brandon's firing. Just stick to the high ground.

I don't think you understand. These men hate each other, it's petty and childish. The grave dancing on Brian's part has gone beyond all rationale limits of his responsibility to tell this story. It's personal, and for those who can't see that, it's only because it's personal for you too. This blog collectively, telling George Bush derp derp jokes 3 years after he's out of office. Your celebratory moment has long passed, the Hackett/Harbaugh era is here. That's the story. It's a really good one if you can leave the bitterness behind. I'm glad Brandon's gone. When I'm glad someone's gone, I don't normally go on talking about them for months.

So dead on. I loved the DB grave-dancing but it has expired. There is no one out there defending him so what war is Brian trying to fight? It's been petty since the Toys R Us post. I was very excited about "Three & Out" because there were a lot of unanswered questions about that era (many still unanswered, partly because Bacon didn't always name names). I'm intrigued by Endzone and will read it, but I don't think anything will surprise me in it. We pretty much all know the score with DB.

Brian didn't post this...this is a quote from a book written last year and only just now published...this isn't him continuing anything. Someone informed him, sometime last year, of a derogatory remark Brandon made about him that compares him to a terrorist. Brian simply made a witty retort and now a year or so later the book has been published and someone posted it. Very funny and a great response to a douchebag comment from Brandon, if you ask me.

There's a key difference - Brian is right.  Brandon was actively destroying the thing everyone here loves, was impossible to negotiate with, and would manipulate any modicum of good will from others to advance his own selfish agenda.  Maybe "terrorist" is strong, but turnabout is fair play - Brandon introduced that language into the discourse.  Brian spoke the truth here - hyperbolically & sarcastically, as is his wont, but the truth.

This is rational thinking and not at all mob blog mentality. I'll just continue to be the crazy one here and suggest that Brandon went to Michigan, played football for Bo, was a regent, gave up millions to take the AD job, went to so many athletic events across so many sports (meaning likely 14-16 hour days) that literally an athlete at Michigan could not be found to disparage him even though he'd clearly failed and the media was digging in every corner to find one. "He was a greedy businesspublican who lined his pockets with our money!!" Of course he was. But let's be crazy and consider HE didn't make any more money by bilking the fanbase for every dollar. He was doing it so that he could build world class athletic facilities at the school for all sports, and as soon as possible. In part for his own vanity? Sure. But probably not to fund his consumption of third world children or hammering out the shins of newborn puppies.
