Probably just some bitter talking points but here are a few quotes that showed up on my Twitter feed. Has a "we are better than you so we don't want to play you any more" kind of feel to it.
Brian Kelly on Michigan: "I really haven't seen it as one of those historic, traditional Notre Dame rivalries."
Sure they've played under 40 games but why undermine the tradition when the games have been hard-fought battles over the last 10 years?
"I don't think any time off will affect the great rivalry that these two teams have shared."
Series has been on hiatus before, but obviously this one will effect it given the nature of how successful UTL games have been.
And transistions to this, which makes no sense given what he was saying previously.
"We'd like to play everybody. Unfortunately we can't...We'll work hard to get them back on the schedule."
Someone is obvious bitter. All that U-M needs to do to respond to this kind of talk is show it on the football field Saturday night. College Gameday in Ann Arbor baby. Beat ND!
