Brian Griese is announcing the Cincy/Rutgers game on ESPN. Its his debut. Hope he does well. And wears that National Championship ring on air. Anyway, I am taking both dogs in the doubleheader today. Read all about it, if you must: justcoverblog.coom

No matter what ... he could only go as low as the 2nd worst announcer ... because Chris Speilman has the worst spot on lockdown and has the potential to keep it for many years

I'm stunned you didn't have several others locked down as well. Even if you include Pam Ward and Ray Bentley as a singular, you've still got Dave Pasch, Gary Danielson, Andre Ware, and occasionally Lou Hotlz/Mark May. By the by, the first week Pammies nominees are now out. Yes, Pam did say, "I want a stallion package."

I had no idea he was going to the booth either. Wish him luck. I only hope that he isn't terrible like Lou Holtz and pick Michigan to go undefeated every year

Spielman the worst? even if he is a buckeye, Spielman is great to listen to as an announcer. he calls it like a true player. always preaching fundamentals and calling out guys who dog it or blow their assignments. I think that's great. he also gives attention to guys in the trenches and doesn't just focus on the skill players. but, if you don't like that style, then i guess you would really hate him. but anyway...

I got that as the Dolphins made the Wildcat/Wildhog more popular in the mainstream. I've definitely seen more college teams run it just this weekend than I have in 5 years. Breaking out the double-superlative (most hardest?) would be my only neg for Griese the Younger so far...this is very entertaining to watch.

She just noticed he was one of the announcers. She commented, "Isn't he the one.....that punched the window out at Scorekeepers?" I love that fact that she doesn't remember him as the player who quarterbacked Michigan to its last national championship, but from his drunken, backup days being obnoxious in Ann Arbor.

I thought he sounded pretty solid, not a bad gig for him. Edit: had to put a subject in, because the default was just "I thought he sounded pretty" and that just wasn't going to work.
