But, it's true. We don't. We're relying on a point guard in the slot. We just don't seem to recruit good skill guys any more.

You are looking at things from a very very small window. If you include the past 4-5 years, players such as Manningham, Avant and Arrington come to mind at WR. Hart, Minor and Brown are pretty good RBs and there is a whole host of players behind them in the depth chart that look pretty good.
Although our depth at WR sucks right now, I don't think its time for, "OMG Recruiting has been terrible for the past 5 years."

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head (and I'm not Steve, but I'm offering what I can from the little I know about Kelly) is that there was a situation several years back in which Kelly apparently came close to or crossed a line with what was described as a "racially sensitive" statement. I'm pretty sure there was a topic here about it, and it wasn't a big deal at all (sounded like a misunderstanding), but it was something that would've been an enormous deal if he was hired at Michigan.

that are not very favorable on this show today. It sounded like he said if things don't get better soon he might want to start looking for someone else. I'm not quoting him at all, but what he said sounded very shocking about how the lustre is wearing off. All this came after the time-machine comments. Did anyone else hear these comments?

Generally, Brian has been more negative about RR, but basically he is just saying that hey the honeymoon is over and we expect you to start performing. He is by no means calling for RR's head. In fact, he has been saying we are where we expected us to be this year and if RR doesn't start to perform after his third year, he will start to be on the hot seat during his 4th year.
