Had to have been a pretty easy choice this week. Nice job Brendan, you've come a long way big guy!

meant less snarky than it sounds, but still.

"It marks Gibbons' first Big Ten Player of the Week honor. He becomes the first Wolverines' specialist to earn the weekly award since punter Zoltan Mesko..."
Congratulations to Brendan on a well-deserved honor this week, and indeed, how awesome to be the first Wolverine to win this since the Space Emperor himself.

I'm not sure who this Gibbons is whom you refer to. However, I heard that the THREAT was named B1G player of the week

Who would have thought that we'd be calling our kicker THREAT after the past few years? It feels good.

Is it just me or does Gibbons look a lot like Bob Seger circa 1978 (think "Stranger In Town" album cover). If I had more skills I'd post side by side comparison pictures.

I was thinking of them as I watched him on Saturday, but yours works too.

He won't be next week.

Well deserved.
I have a hard time judging what's going on with field goal attempts that move from one side of the goal posts to the other. Did his game winner just sneak inside the right upright, or was it more comfortably in than that?

I mainly had a hard time telling if the kick was good because me and my dad sit in the south endzone and the kick was made in the north. I really thought he missed until everybody started celebrating.

From the student section it looked right. I didn't breathe until the refs reached for the sky!

How do we differentiate between THE THREAT who looks like Keith Stone and THE THREAT who held for Keith Stone and racked up 100 receiving yards?

I think in honor of THE THREAT'S performance it should be made brunette appreciation week.

Bear hungry. Bear want field goal.

With every successful field goal, 2010 fades farther and farther into Bolivia

Brendan Gibbons may be the greatest redemption story going in college football. By the end of 2010, I felt it was just plain cruel to keep putting him out there to do something everyone knew he couldn't do. Now, we send him out to win Sugar Bowls and rivalry games with B10 title implications and he wins awards. Has any player made a bigger turnaround from total scrub to hero? None that I know of.
