It could be the ugliest trophy in sports, though I do like the base: a map of Michigan.
But now it's back in Ann Arbor, and given the guy who scored all the points, I thought it needed freshening up....

Amen. That was a huge play and we don't win without it.
Thank you, Coach Hoke, for bringing Michigan back.
Gibby didn't score all the points. Wile scored a long one as well.

Think back a few years when the kickers were thrown under the bus. Along comes Hoke. Hoke believes in the kickers. Then the FG to win the Sugar Bowl. Then this victory.
It's really a great story, isn't it? It's another piece in the Hoke picture that makes me glad he's on our sideline.

I hear what you're saying, but based on looks, mealer is Bunyan.

how about the fact that with 18 seconds to go, before Dileo revealed he was the MFing Threat, the cameras show Hoke pacing the sideline, and who does he see standing ready to go, loaded for Bear?!?!? Bear Gibbons himself!!!!
what does Brady do?!?! He smacks him on the helmet! What a confidence booster! You're my man, you're going to kick that through the uprights!!!!
"...when the ole' season is over, you and I know, it's going to be Michigan again; Michigan!"
Actually, Gibbons didn't have all the points. Matt Wile hit a crucial field goal for us. But hey, 3 is 3 and a W is a W!
Does anyone know where the Bunyan Trophy table is located? Did the players have to walk by that empty table every day for the past 4 years? If so, how refreshing to see it occupied again with a most hideous (even w/o the Gibbons photoshop!) - yet revered - trophy.
I've never felt more satisfied than tonight for several years
