Wow, good for him.

He looks legit and its nice to see him getting the recognition he deserves.

under the radar guys and they get a bump. There isn't direct evidence on the court that is pointed to as proof he deserves the bump.

In this case, you had an already well known quarterback who kicked ass in camps and on the field and therefore got a bump. It's not the same at all.

It's not that they bumped him because he is playing for Harbaugh, it's that Harbaugh expertly evaluated him before the sites paid attention to him. Now, when a proven coach at a major program picks out a kid, it opens up services' eyes and they take a harder look at him, sometimes causing them to realize they had undervalued the recruit. See many of Beilein's recruits.

Not an expert by any means, but Peters' tape looks as good as any high school QB's that I've seen. Gets results, too, in games and camps. Seems like a really good one we got.

I think Scout is the laggard on our guys so far.  They seem to have a bunch of our guys as 2 stars still.  Need them to update and give us at least the courtesy 3 stars.

The best part is he's never paid thousands of dollars for a QB guru like all the other top QBs. He just has an innate feel for the position and is only just scratching the surface. I think he takes over as a RS Freshman and wins the heisman and the national championship as a junior. For our fourth consecutive championship. Of ten.

passed up Bredeson as the top Michigan commit in 247Sports eyes. Bredeson is 3 spots back. Michigan now has 3 247Sports top 100 players.

Well deserved bump after camp and game action.

The other possible positive is this young man has not had a quarterback guru work with him so there may be a bump when he gets on campus also.

Watched the kid in person for the first time in game action Friday night against Indiana's top ranked team.  Kid is the REAL deal.  Walked out VERY excited about his future in AA with Harbaugh.

By the time O'Korn is gone both Gentry and Peters will have had a couple years in the program, so both will be vets. The fact that Peters was handpicked by Harbaugh could give him a leg up, but Gentry has some interesting physical tools.

Technically Gentry was also hand-picked by Harbaugh. He didn't have a lot of time to evaluate him but Harbaugh chose him nonetheless. Only Malzone is at a disadvantage in that regards but I think he is enough of a hard worker that he will impress Harbaugh anyway.

For what its worth, I think that Gentry would make an amazing tight end prospect.

I think Gentry has too large of mechanical issues at the moment with too much upside at another position to remain at QB when Peters gets here. Now we could easily still see him in a Belldozer type situation that gives him the pass/run option, but for a coach that will recruit quarterbacks until the cows come home and move everyone who blinks funny to TE, it's hard to see Gentry not ending up at the Y for his primary position

yeah its gonna be interesting to see play out.  gentry is a monster with some nice natural abilities (i.e. he flicks his wrist and spits the ball 50 yards downfield) but his mechanics are a mess at this point.

plenty of modern QBs have issues stemming from running high school spread systems out of the gun and gentry is no different.  gentry has some bad habits (like pretty much every QB recruit) and needs to work on his base, footwork, balance, weight transter, etc, and while im sure harbaugh and staff (and his own hard work) will help correct some of those issues, he wont be operating in a vacuum and will need to progress at certain pace or the 9 other QBs will jump him.  itll be exciting to watch his career play out
