Wow, good for him.
He looks legit and its nice to see him getting the recognition he deserves.

He is tearing it up in camps and competition and has proven to be one of the top quarterbacks in the class.
Not everything is a Harbaugh bump.
August 31st, 2015 at 10:18 AM ^
Nothing in the universe has nothing to do with Harbaugh. The formation of new stars in galaxies far away is at least tangentially related to Harbaugh...

Are you saying Harbaugh is dark matter?
August 31st, 2015 at 11:28 AM ^
He is a singularity...

Or else we'll go whole bunch of Harbaugh to Oakland posts.

...which is that Harbuagh recognized the talent before the services, not that he got a bump because Harbaugh offered him. But by all means, be condescending when you completely missed the point.

Yes, it shows Harbaugh can pick out talent. I 100% agree with that but Harbaugh bump implies that he got the bump because of Harbaugh which isn't true.

under the radar guys and they get a bump. There isn't direct evidence on the court that is pointed to as proof he deserves the bump.
In this case, you had an already well known quarterback who kicked ass in camps and on the field and therefore got a bump. It's not the same at all.

Umm some of you guys are making him sound like he was Spike Albrecht in HS. He was a well known top 12-15ish QB before he was offered.

I get your point but it very well may have to do with Harbaugh as Jim worked with Peters earlier in the summer and then Peters went out and tore up the camps. Maybe a few of Jim's pointers helped him.

Welcome back - havent seen you in a while gif master.

Awesome. Too bad Rivals didn't give him a bump as well.

Rivals isn't as high on him. They said he was only ok at the Elite 11, which doesn't make sense to me since he was one of the 11. I don't understand what they are looking at.
August 31st, 2015 at 11:46 AM ^
They couldn't look at the Elite 11 because they weren't invited to The Opening or the Elite 11.

Does it really matter? If the kid can play, then he can play.
August 31st, 2015 at 9:58 AM ^
Not an expert by any means, but Peters' tape looks as good as any high school QB's that I've seen. Gets results, too, in games and camps. Seems like a really good one we got.

I think Scout is the laggard on our guys so far. They seem to have a bunch of our guys as 2 stars still. Need them to update and give us at least the courtesy 3 stars.

Further proof that Harbaugh should be running these recuiting sites.
August 31st, 2015 at 10:24 AM ^
Well, yeah....
He should also be running Boeing, Apple, GM, and Exxon. Then maybe this world would finally get someplace.

Toys R Us would benefit greatly from his services.

Film from the first two games is pretty damn impressive.. Chris Evans juke from the Avon vs Ben Davis game was too nasty. Excited for that combo.

passed up Bredeson as the top Michigan commit in 247Sports eyes. Bredeson is 3 spots back. Michigan now has 3 247Sports top 100 players.
Well deserved bump after camp and game action.
The other possible positive is this young man has not had a quarterback guru work with him so there may be a bump when he gets on campus also.

Watched the kid in person for the first time in game action Friday night against Indiana's top ranked team. Kid is the REAL deal. Walked out VERY excited about his future in AA with Harbaugh.

You have no idea where Malzone is in comparison to anyone else on the team.

By the time O'Korn is gone both Gentry and Peters will have had a couple years in the program, so both will be vets. The fact that Peters was handpicked by Harbaugh could give him a leg up, but Gentry has some interesting physical tools.
August 31st, 2015 at 10:34 AM ^
Technically Gentry was also hand-picked by Harbaugh. He didn't have a lot of time to evaluate him but Harbaugh chose him nonetheless. Only Malzone is at a disadvantage in that regards but I think he is enough of a hard worker that he will impress Harbaugh anyway.
For what its worth, I think that Gentry would make an amazing tight end prospect.
September 1st, 2015 at 10:02 AM ^
Not really though. Harbaugh had weeks to put a class toghether, and there weren't many QBs available. If he'd had an entire year to put that class together, its possible Gentry wouldnt have been his top QB target.

yeah its gonna be interesting to see play out. gentry is a monster with some nice natural abilities (i.e. he flicks his wrist and spits the ball 50 yards downfield) but his mechanics are a mess at this point.
plenty of modern QBs have issues stemming from running high school spread systems out of the gun and gentry is no different. gentry has some bad habits (like pretty much every QB recruit) and needs to work on his base, footwork, balance, weight transter, etc, and while im sure harbaugh and staff (and his own hard work) will help correct some of those issues, he wont be operating in a vacuum and will need to progress at certain pace or the 9 other QBs will jump him. itll be exciting to watch his career play out
