Brandon Graham Update

Submitted by Niels on

The Eagles- focused Birds 24/7 blog had a nice piece up this week on Brandon Graham's progress this year after signing a new contract with the Eagles in the off-season. A lot of people thought he would be gone last year after the Eagles switched to a 3-4 a few years ago but Chip Kelly really liked him and made it a priority to re-sign him. After a couple of tough years of injuries, scheme switches, and other chaos around him, he seems to have really come into his own as an NFL player.

As a UM fan who follows the Eagles, it's nice to see Philly sportswriters and fans who have (ahem) high expectations recognize BG as a great player.

Actually other than not drafting Olinemen... Chip's decisions were fine.

Are Mccoy, Foles and Jackson really blowing it up on other teams right now? Nope.

Drafting Hicks from Texas was also a great move.

Agholor we need to wait on...

This upcoming draft just needs to be about Oline.

Eagles would have had a QB problem just like the other 15 teams in the league every year that have QB problems with or without Foles.

I'm just happy Bradford renegged on the contract extension before the season. That would have hamstrung the Eagles.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see SackorPick and/or RGIII in Philly soon b/c the Niners and Washington sure don't want them.

I was at a bar during draft and all the pundits said we were trading up for Earl Thomas.  When BG's name got called I was the only Eagle fan still smiling.  After some ups and downs (mostly injury related)  it's good to see him realizing his potential.  Brings consistent pressure on QB, strong against the run, and not a complete liability in coverage.  PFF has been giving him lots of love, glad to see the rest of interwebz and press joining suit.  During last week's cowboy's game, they were slobbering over Tyron Smith and on the ensuing play, BG beat him like a drum for  strip sack (no recovery), as a diehard Michgan/Eagles fan it was quite enjoyable.
