Michigan State junior forward Branden Dawson out 4-5 weeks with a broken hand

Dawson said he slammed his hand on table after frustrated watching film of his recent play

That changes things for the game this Saturday. With Appling and Payne banged up but will play.  I never wish injury on anybody and I rather have Michigan beat MSU on full strength.

Also, there's a curse of #3 ranking for B1G teams. OSU and Wisconsin haven't won since then and MSU had trouble with Indiana a few days ago. Do B1G team really want the #3 ranking?

Ha, not so much, just haven't been on much. Saw the Campbell thing on a news feed, came here to see what had been posted, then saw this post about dude breaking his hand, and thought it was ironic. Sorry I didn't have anything better to contribute.

He broke his hand slamming it on a table after watching his poor play? That is incredible. I literally have no words for how dumb that is. 2014 is the gift that keeps on giving.

This is a huge loss for them.  They are already extremely limited in the front court, especially with Payne not at 100%.  I will never understand why people punch walls (or tables in this instance) when they get upset.

I, for one, have become so angry in the past that I've become a flat-out idiot.  A few inanimate objects have suffered as a result.  The aftermath of the Colorado Hail Mary play in the mid-90s was a bad time to be my CD player, for example.

You probably meant imply, though, that there isn't a good reason to attack furniture, and you've got me on that one...

better an inanimate object then your dog...

I too used to punch shit when i was mad... now I don't feel so much since I'm older and life is just going on long after the thrill of living is gone...

Let go, life does get tough.  No need to stress, hold you back too much.

Let's go, I heard they found the solution.  Where will YOU be for the revolution?

Smooooooth Dawson.

Huge hit for MSU though. Dawson is a good player and this not only hurts them for Saturday, but for the rest of B1G play as well.

I guess I'd have more sympathy if (a) it had happened during basketball and not film and (b) we didn't have to play through our own injuries, especially McGary.

Still, you hate to see injuries of any kind.

It's an OJ injury (he supposedly did a similar thing once he had learned his wife had been murdered, thereby providing plausible counter-explanation for injured hand).

wouldn't wish this upon Dawson and would prefer to play MSU at full strength, it does give Izzo just one more reason to cry about the misfortune that hits his teams year-in-and-year-out.  Cuz no one else ever has to deal with injuries.  /s/

Clearly their best rebounder, especially on the offensive glass.  His presence makes it especially easy for Payne to float out onto the perimeter and still have the offensive rebounding presence in the paint, big loss for them.

Who cares if State is at full strength or not? Everybody is banged up this time of year...a win is a win however you can get it in B1G play, especially on the road against the #3 team in the country.
