Brutal news. Hope he recovers as quickly as possible.
This could have huge ramifications in the B1G and NCAA tourneys as well.
Here's hoping for a quick recovery. He's going to be a very good one.
There is no time, sir, at which ties do not matter.
Wish him the best...hopefully he will be ready for the B1G schedule next year.
Thats tough to recover 100 percent from. He has a ton of potential and i believe he is true fresh with a redshirt left. Being so young, he will be able to take his time recovering.

though I would say he is 95% to make a full recovery. It will be a lot of rehab (before and after surgery) but he could be stronger than before. Although you obviously never want this injury, this could improve his overall game. When I tore my ACL, I was able to improve my shooting and also the cerebral part of the game, having to sit and watch basketball up close he will gain insight into tendencies, etc. Wish him the best.
Proud member of the Rebellion
That sucks to hear, but if any squad can absorb it, it's MSU with their depth and Izzo's March experience (as much as that pains me to say) Hopefully he's OK and makes a full recovery for next year.
Former Buckeye Antonio Pittman on being a poster child for compliance: "This osu tattoo stuff is silly. Cats been getting hookups on tatts since back in '01."
At least he is only a frosh. So he will have plent of time to make a full comeback.

Real bummer, never wish for a kid to get hurt, no matter who he plays for. Hoping for a complete recovery for him
"I hope I can get a bunch of championships - like 15"
Sad news. The kid was really coming on. Hope he has a full recovery.
Never what you want to hear. Best of luck to the kid until he gets back on the court.
Tough loss - wish him the best in his recovery. Rivalries are great, but I never want to see a player suffer through such an injury.
turning point in the game today. They were controlling the game till he went down. Here's to a quick and perfect recovery.
21 years of coaching and every senior who stayed had at least 1 big ten title... That is what " Those who stay will be champions" will really get you Ohio native Bo Schembechler.
Wow. Tough break for Sparty and Branden. He's got a ton of talent. Hoping for a quick recovery.
Ugh, hope the Indiana connection doesn't translate to Hummel v. 2.0
Your friendly neighborhood Sparty
That's awful news. I liked that guy's game.
"Play hard and with great effort"
Damn that sucks, good luck to him recovering.
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
Darn shame. Very impressive player, probably MSU's most talented player. Hope to see those hops back to full effect in the near future
If they get on the surgery and rehab now, hopefully he's back for a significant portion of next year. MSU has all kinds of depth though, they'll always be alright. Tough for the kid though. Instead of a summer of working on your game, you get a summer of rehab... or, as some say, working on the "mental" aspects of the game.
...I can puncho yo buns...
Hopefully he gets the best possible care and we see him in a season or two.
God bless him to a speedy recovery. He will be a stud for Sparty soon.
Go Blue
Too bad. That could def hurt the Big Ten's chances of getting teams into the third round and beyond.
Hope he's back and healthy, a strong B1G is good for everyone and raises every teams profile.
still a very capable team without him, but damn, that sucks for the kid and the team.
I down-vote ANYONE that puts the "t" in front of osu. Don't be a tool.
Oh yea....screw msu too.
Hope he can make a full recovery. Tough break for Dawson and the spartans.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.
I had a feeling it was bad by the way he went down. It looked very painful. Hope he recovers
I was really hoping it would be like with Draymond where he just had a sprain or something. An ACL tear is just horrible news. I wish him all the best in his recovery and look forward to seeing him on the court again.

That is sad news. I saw the play where he went down hard in obvious pain and did not return for the second half. I hope he makes a full recovery.
Abort, Retry, Fail?
May you have a speedy and full recovery.
Feel beter and I hope to see you on the court again as soon as possible.
At the end if the day this is just a game. Nobody should suffer for playing hard.
Here's hoping for a bright future. This team does try hard and I will continue to support them.
I would have to think this situation means a redshirt year next year for Dawson. Feel for the guy...he would have been a huge part of their offensive attack next year. He's such a freak athlete, too. I hope the surgery and rehab get him back to near-normal. I was really looking forward to future match-ups with THJ, GRIII, etc.
It reminded me of our win against MSU. Didn't Green go down oddly late in that game? This looked liked they knocked knees, and so did Green's. I hope for a complete and speedy recovery for him.
It didn't look good when he came off at all.

I expected most everyone to be very sympathetic, but I still thought there was going to be a least that one guy who would say something stupid like "good, glad we don't have to deal with him". But I don't see anybody doing that. Other fan bases can make fun of us, but at least we don't wish any harm on other players
Hopefully he does heal fully and still is able to get set for next year, he really does have a bright future
Go Blue or go home
I never like seeing a college athete go down but im sorry, all i could think of was how sparty was screaming at Robbie Hummel about his knee. So much that even Izzo went off on his fanbase. Funny how quickly the ole "red cedar meltdown board" forgets that. But god forbid 1 of their own goes down.
Proud "Walmart Wolverine" since 1974!!!!
"Right turn Clyde"!! Philo Beddoe
That sucks for Dawson. Hopefully he can return fully healthy.
But it is funny to see all the MSU fans attacking anyone, especially purdue fan who say anything about this when their own coach had to call out their student section for ridiculing Hummel about his injuries.
Practice makes perfect. Unless you're the Buckeyes. Then you have to cheat.
I had an ACL reconstruction last year, and it took about 6 months to be fully normal again (not thinking about the knee). A young athlete with all the rehab facilities at his disposal and he won't miss a beat. Remember our kicker Hayden Epstein tore his ACL in the offseason and was back in time to kick off in September a few years ago?
This is really unfortunate for both MSU and Dawson. He is a hell of a young player and seems like a good kid. Best of luck to him in his recovery.
Like a blind man at an orgy, I was going to have to feel my way through
While I'm nowhere near the caliber of world class athletes like Dawson, six months is pretty standard to come back with a standard of 3 days a week rehab. If you're working out with great doctors / trainers like at State or Michigan or similar program, have to guess that he'd be ready for next year unless it's a complicated surgery (i.e. meniscus repair and other ligaments in addition to the ACL)

Well, there go our final 4 hopes. good luck to you guys. today sucked
