Brady Pallante named after Brady Hoke who was recruiting DJ Durkin

Submitted by iawolve on

Uh huh

In the DetNews story, Dan Pallante was coaching DJ Durkin in HS when he was visited by Brady Hoke, who was on the staff at UM in 1994 and came to recruit DJ. Dan's wife, who was pregnant at the time, met Hoke and decided she liked the name Brady, which is how Brady Pallante got his name. Pallente then ends up being coached by the guy that caused the event to happen in the first place due to his play in HS.

Seems likes at some point a Terminator T600 will show up on campus looking for Pallante since there seems to be a break space time continuum somewhere.

Fun article.  This was my favorite part:

Pallante asked his son about Michigan's shutout of Northwestern last week and how unusual it is to have three straight. "He said, 'Dad, that's what's expected,'"

Damn straight

Dude, We need to talk, we can make some serious coin, about 45 mins into the game let me know what the score is and whats going on, I'll make a ton of bets 15 mins before kickoff and we split the winnings!

Wow, I had no idea DJ Durkin had a Brady Hoke tie in, let alone Brady Pallante. Small world, especially in the football community, it seems.

the T600 has been out of production for years!

And this really does not mean he was named after Brady Hoke, only that she heard the name Brady and liked it.

My son - in - law named his 2nd son Brady. He loves the New England Patriots. He lived up there until after college. We accused him of the name Brady after Tom Brady and he won't say one way or the other. Oh, the first boy is Eli and the third boy Major. I wonder who could they be named after?

to Hoke coming back as a D-line coach.  He can clearly identify D-Line talent as well as develop it.  He also loves the University.  Mattison is getting long in the tooth, and they are good friends anyways so I am sure they could co-exist on the staff.

It should be a couple years from now, when most his recruits are gon, but I think he was exposed as lacking in many departments as it pertains to being a head coach at a big time program and doubt he gets another shot.  If he his choice is to be a mediocre coach at a MAC level school or a badass D-line coach who could perhaps get promoted to DC at Michigan, he should choose the latter.  Of course, not sure his laid back, get fat eating donuts clapping seal style would work with HARBAUGH!

No offense but hoke does not have the chops to be a coordinator. I'm sure it'd be a cute heartwarming story to bring back hoke as DL coach but no sane coach would ever do so at M given majority thoughts re the attitude, performance incompetence of 2011-14. Hoke could be Larry Johnson times ten but still a bad idea. Can't recall many major programs naming 55-65 yr olds as 1st time coordinators. But I guess Brady could get it done. Wow I hope you're joking

Come on, the icompetence thing is overrated. Hoke won a fucking BCS bowl, and had two decent years at Michigan. Of course the wheels fell off due to the young/inexperienced Oline in 2013, and terrible OC in 2014, but I think just about any coach would have struggled under those circumstances. In any case, now we have Harbaugh, who is an upgrade as a coach either way, but Hoke left him a bunch of expereinced and highly rated recruits at everything but the QB position.

If Hoke returned to coaching D-line in the state of Michigan I think that would be awesome, a couple years of developing in East Lansing and our 2nd string back-up practice squad running backs would look like heisman frontrunners for that game. That and there'd be at least one person still clapping for sparty after this year.

If this is 100% true I'll eat a lemon. First of all, correlation doesn't imply causation; Brady is kind of a cool name. Second, if Mrs. Pallante was that charmed by Brady Hoke that she named her son after him...that's a huge party foul on her and maybe Mr. Pallante should get paternity tests on his other children.
