Lots of good stuff and of course Eisen who very publicly never embraced RichRod is ecstatic and not afraid to show it. Hoke comes off well and at the end we learn that he's calling from Ohio where he's on a, wait for it, recruiting trip.

Enjoy.

Don't you worry comrade. I have some left for future offenses against humanity. I have seen some avatars incorporate the mushroom cloud in them now. I guess this is collateral in the CC war damage that gives us radioactive children peppering the MGoWorld.

Eisen needs to expand the format to like an hour and blow through half of that having Hoke tell Bo hanging around practice stories.

I'd pay a subscription fee.

So i can listen to this podcast.  I've been a big fan of Rich Eisen's podcasts lately because he gets some very entertaining guests.  Charles Barkley and Adam Corolla were great recently.  Stoked for Hoke!

It just seemed like he was insulting RR at every opportunity rather than simply praising Hoke.  And I don't think this stuff makes Hoke look any better -- the party line should be that we hired him because he was the best candidate (regardless of whether that's true), not because he knows the lyrics to the Victors or because he won't give the #1 jersey to a freshman DB.

In any case, Hoke handled the interview well.

...anti-RR and he was never ashamed of letting people know it. I suppose he feels vindicated and more than anything else, pleased that Michigan is going back to the future.

Given his vintage and background as a Daily sports reporter and editor during the tail end of the Bo era, it's understandable.

but if I were Hoke I would tell Eisen to stop comparing me to RR.  It's not flattering, and if I were Hoke it would make me feel uncomfortable.  It seems to have that effect on him.  I mean, at first it might be nice, but after a while, you'd want people to like you for who you are, and not for who you aren't.

And all this doesn't make Eisen look good, either, it makes him look like a jerk.  You know, what Brian said.

This interview highlights some of the anti-RichRod venom that existed with older alumni.  30 yards and a cloud of dust offense??  Yes, please.  Notably, Hoke came right out and said we would run a pro-style offense.  I really, really, really hope he doesn't under-utilize the phenomenal talent he has in Denard.  It's likely that under the Hoke regime, after Gardner and D-Rob are gone, we will no longer see the mobile, dilithium infused quarterbacks that we now enjoy.
