If I had to choose, I'd pick national exposure with great tournament runs.  The tournament is a lot more spread out then the BTT and it generates a lot more good press for the program.  Either scenario would be good.

Greatness is measured by Final Four appearances, not doing well in you conference. Duke has won 9 of their last 12 (now 10 of 13?), but before breaking through last year all you'd hear about is how they underachieve in the Tournament. Simply put, as jmblue said, there's s movie about the Fab Five on tonight; there's no movie about the Big Ten Champ those years, or Kentucky's freshman class last year. It all about March. You can fix a so-so season with a great Tourney run, but a bad Tournament run can wreck a great regular season (compare MSU and Kansas last year).

I'm hoping for 2PM Friday and any post hangover tip time on Sunday.  I'm out from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday, so I'm really, really hoping to get the hookup this year.  I was agonizing missing the first half of the Oklahoma game in 2009.

But when was the last time Kenny Smith or Barkley covered college basketball? Does Charles remember anything about his years other than taking money?

I wonder if Joe Lunardi's head is exploding yet.. He had UAB and Georgia on the outside looking in, and they were both put in the first Region announced... SUCH A FARCE!

I still doubt they'd have the whole Crisler set up, Beilein interview, and Michigan attention if they aren't going to get a bid.  Wouldn't make any sense.
