Yeah, all the major announcements have leaked, but we've got all of ESPN's analysis, predictions, and talk of match-ups. And who knows maybe there will be a surprise along the way. BCS Selection Show at 8:30 ESPN followed by the Bowl Selection Special for everyone else. Flip from Walking Dead and Homeland, or dvr them.

But, this bowl lineup has just pushed me to desire a 16 team playoff.  I never wanted this before and struggled to hold onto traditional tie-ins, namely the Rose Bowl and B1G/Pac 12 matchup.  But, it's already ruined half the time anyways, so we mind as well just go to a playoff.  It would be more entertaining at this point.

Last night Bama looked very beatable. UGA came up, what, 5 yards short at the end? Notre Dame seems to match up very favorably with Bama. In my opinion anyway. They are both based around defense, physical line play, and running the ball. With that being said, we have 19 more days to see if the Mayans were right. If they are we won't have to choose between the two.

They looked beatable when playing a team like Georgia with a stud Rb and a QB who is a threat to throw the ball down the field which causes the defense to decide where they want to focus.  ND doens't have either one of those.

Chips to the Little Ceasar's Bowl.  NIU to Orange Bowl opened up the spot.  Not exactly a banner year for the Chips, but they have a shot at a winning season.

looking forward to KSU/Oreg and that is about it for BCS, I could careless about the title game seeing as how the media will completely be unbearable for either team.

As far as non BCS bowls....those look a lot more interesting and I might be the only one but I think the B1G does better than people think it will. I could see UM, Sparty, NW, NEB all winning.

I figure Georgia will be down like they were last year, the Sparty D should handle TCU, NW has a legit shot at Miss St and I believe Mattison can do enough to save Borges from blowing it against Carolina.

are MSU(stretch considering their craptastic offense) and NW.  Michigan has a tough matchup against an excellent SC defense.  Nebraska will get killed by UGA.  If Wisconsin can run all over them, UGA will be able to do the same and their defense is better.

The most optimistic record for B1G would be 3-3 and the realistic record would be 1 win but 0 win is very possible.

Apparently they turned down an invite to the Independence Bowl.  Depending on what you read, they did so because they thought a more prestigious invite was still available, and/or because they did not want to play UL-Monroe, who was a big rival of LA Tech back when the two schools were still 1-AA members.

Bizarre all the same.

I hope the team just listened to the castration of our team that the espn commentators just laid out there. Jolts predicts Bama part deux. May says we can't play against real defenses. Pollack and the bachelor gave each other sec massages too. Oh my. No longer meh now. Lets go blue!

I would tend to agree....
One problem, though, last year I tended to think we got the better of special teams (lots of turnovers, mostly). But Now I think it's a weakness.  Aside from FGs, I think our returns and return coverage are abysmal. I don't know how to account for that. Also, I think our big play potential without Hemingway is worse, but who knows? If Denard can replace him with some big plays, we could get the coupke of TDs we need.

at the Chikin Sammich Bowl.  Lovely.

As much as I'm disappointed with the B1G - ESS EEE SEE tie-ins for the second-tier New Year's Day bowls, I grieve for the entire city of Atlanta for having to host an ESS EEE SEE/basketball conference match-up year after year.  So damned provincial, such awful football.

What a surprise! They said nice things about us for about 45 seconds followed by 5 minutes of them spewing on and on about South Carolina and why we're going to get pounded.

Sane folks (non Irish) declare ND is a weak 12-0 after luck saved 3-4 games. The B1G champ is 8-5, 2nd place had 3 losses and PSU managed 8 wins. OSU went 12-0 and FL is 11-1 after 6-6 seasons last year. Preseason #1 USC is 7-5. Ark was preseason #7 preseason and imploded. A frosh QB and LB are leaders for the Heisman. Utter craziness and minimal quality play.

Because Clowney is a top 10 pick as well. Should but a key matchup and an NFL scouts dream.

Point blank, it should never come down to one game --- BUT in this case, Lewan's going to get an NFL calibur player for 60 minutes...man to man. If he holds up, I say go. If Clowney has a good game, I think Lewan should come back.

I just think this game his going to impact his draft stock more than any other single game of his career.

I'm pretty excited for the bowls this year.  I think we got a winnable match up with SCarolina, but I think Clowney might have a field day with our OL...

On another note, I recently moved to PHX, and I"ll be going to my first bowl game ever  - Fiesta Bowl woohoo!! (i know cool story bro).  I'm pretty stoked for the KSU/Oregon match up.  I think it might be the best bowl game this year, and could be consider the MNC game sorta...

I'm considering going to the BW3 bowl since its I think Sparty vs TCU is intriguing as well.  I'm thinking tix will be on the cheap the day of...

Herbstreit made quite a fool of himself complaining about N.Illinois being included.  I guess Lynch took the highroad and didn't tell him off (though there is video of Lynch throwing an orange at the tv while watching Herbstreit flip out)  Herbstreit might want to realize that under the playoff system they also would have gotten into one of the contract bowls. Herbstreit said "Thank goodness we are going toward a new system"  (way to do your research)  Also they aren't even the biggest underdog.  Louisville and ND are both bigger dogs.

Yeah, he's gotten a bit ahead of himself recently.  He's complaining about N. Illinois despite the fact that teams like Wiscy and Louisville are in this year, and in years past "weaker" squads have gotten in as well.  That's part of the deal with the BCS.

And for all the talk about the elite SEC this year, I just don't see the dominance.  What I do see are a bunch of teams that were highly ranked beat each other every week, so that no one ever falls too far because they have "marquee" wins against other ranked programs.  But the only two decent teams any of the top programs played out of conference are a 7-5 Washington and Florida State, which is one of those "name" programs that hasn't been nearly as good as their recruiting and hype for over a decade.  I mean, Wisconsin has a better win out of conference with Utah St. than some of these clubs.
