No, there is a strict limit of 20(?) countable hours each week. The real issue is what is actually countable, which most of us know all too well.

because school isn't in session. Or is it just that the daily limit--two hours or whatever it is--doesn't apply when school isn't in session, but the 20 hour limit can't be violated at any time.

Nowhere else anywhere in the world are people worried about bowl practice bylaws and fineprint. This is the level of insane paranoia caused by the queefmongers at the freep.
DAMN YOU. DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL.

Just wondering... are players allowed to go work out, get in shape, practice plays etc. on their own w/o having it count as practice hours?
i could see someone like denard or moundrous taking extra time to try and improve their game
[edit]: btw congrats to Moundrous for winning sportsmanship award! you make us proud!

The NCAA can't tell a kid not to work out on their own.

FTR, the Big Ten gives a sportsmanship award to a player at every school in every sport. Read the release again. It says that Moundros is Michigan's winner, not THE winner, of the sportsmanship award. Not that he doesn't deserve kudos for it, but it sounds like you took it as he won the award for the whole Big Ten.
